Patricia Elliott Dies; One Life to Live Star was 77

Patricia Elliott, a veteran actress of the stage and the small screen, died Sunday from a rare form of cancer, multiple outlets have now confirmed.

She was 77 years old.

The Tony award-winning star spent 23 years on One Life to Live, helping to anchor the ABC daytime drama as Renee Divine Buchanan from 1988 to 2011.

Prior to that beloved role, she appeared on the CBS Radio Mystery Theater from 1974 to 1982.

Elliott won a Tony Award in 1973 for portraying Countess Charlotte Malcolm in the original production of Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music.

She also guest-starred on multiple TV shows such as Hill Street Blues, Spenser: For Hire and Kate & Allie.

According to The Associated Press, Elliott is survived by a niece, aunt and several cousins.

She passed away from Leimyloma sarcoma.
