Chicago Fire and Chicago PD: Renewed for the 2016-17 Season!

at .

On top of the news earlier today that Blindspot scored an early second season renewal, NBC is still going.

Both Chicago Fire and Chicago PD scored early renewals for the 2016-17 season tonight.

Chicago Fire Season 5 and Chicago PD Season 4 are now a lock for the upcoming season, while Chicago Med, which begins later this month, will await its fate.

Although, given the early renewals and incredible success of the Chicago franchise, will it be any surprise at all is NBC not only gives Chicago Med an early full season pickup and a second season renewal well in advance?

Either or both of those scenarios seem like possibilities at this point.

Chicago Fire Quotes

Brett: I’m sorry I didn’t tell you. I’ve been in a tailspin over it.
Kidd: How was the kiss? I mean was it good?
Brett: It was. So not helpful, Stella.
Kidd: My bad.
Brett: I just need to put it behind me and move on. I can do that. There are good men who aren’t deep down still in love with their exes, right? I mean you found Severide.

Casey: Not any more. Looks like that was the extent of it. Gabby, our relationship, it’s always going to be an issue for Sylvie.
Severide: And for you?
Casey: I thought so, but to be honest these last few months, I haven’t had any contact with Gabby or thought much about her. Sylvie’s been the only one of my mind.
Severide: But you’re just going to let it go?
Casey: That’s what she wants, so, I don’t know. Maybe it’s for the best.
Severide: Is it? It sounds to me like you’ve got it pretty bad for Brett.
Casey: I think that’s exactly why I have to pull back. It’s the best thing for her.
