UnREAL Season 1 Episode 9 Review: Princess

If you're looking for manipulative, backstabbing and just downright horrible characters then you've come to the right place.

On UnREAL Season 1 Episode 9, Quinn put a plan into action and decided that she was only looking out for herself, but will she really expose everyone?

Let's start with Rachel, who found herself laying on top of Jeremy mere moments after having some royal sex with Adam. I'm beginning to wonder what goes through this chicks mind. Like, I know she didn't particularly look like she was enjoying the sex with Jeremy, but she still slept with him minutes after sleeping with Adam.

Something just isn't right with her actions. She keeps pushing Adam to the other girls, but i'm now getting the impression that she doesn't feel worthy to be with him. We all know she's had a troubled past, but she needs to stop being so hard on herself and move on with her life, whether that's with Adam, Jeremy, or no one.

At the beginning of the series, she came across as such a strong character, but now she just comes across as a mess who is numb to any sort of pain.

Like Faith pointed out earlier in the hour, Adam is a player. I get that he wants to settle down, but his bad boy image would probably prevent him from having a monogamous relationship with Rachel. Heck, she couldn't even remain loyal to him. I do see a lot of similarities between Rachel and Adam, but I don't think these two would be a good match for each other.

They're both pretty reckless. In an ideal world for them, chemistry would conquer all because they have a lot of that.

Dude, I don't know if anyone's ever told you, but you're kind of a player. If I drew a vagina on a white piece of paper, you'd probably hit on it.

Faith

What was the deal with Jeremy's friends just accepting Rachel back in to the fold hours after he broke it off with Lizzie? That was a bit much and I think it shows just how much the relationships mean on this show. I don't feel bad for Jeremy because he knows what he's getting into with Rachel and he'll have a broken heart again soon enough.

Quinn really went out and proved she could be the villain if she wanted to be. Quinn's bitterness has clearly stemmed from several years of Chet stealing her ideas and generally acting like the show was his. It was interesting that she kept the flash drive with 8 years worth of ideas.

Is Chet cheating what really sent her on this path? I'm not so sure. It seems like she's had something similar planned all along.

Really? I'm sorry you're below the line coupon hunting boyfriend is going to offer you something more better than a five year deal with me?

Quinn

I felt horrible for both Adam and Rachel. No one should be threatened with their own sex tape, but it was filmed with equipment from production, so it technically belongs to the show. I'm surprised Rachel never jumped at the chance to go into business with Quinn, but she showed she can think of the future when she made the comment about Quinn becoming Chet. She knows if they go into business that Quinn will take all of the credit for herself.

Quinn knows she needs Rachel. Remember back on UnREAL Season 1 Episode 3 when Quinn grabbed Rachel and verbally tore her down? She really does want to be a mother figure for Rachel, but will Rachel let her?

As Everlasting draws to a conclusion it seemed like it would be an Anna and Faith final two, but then Adam went and eliminated Faith. Faith is the only one who was genuine on the show so it sucks that she was cut at the final hurdle. It would have been a perfect situation for Adam to marry her and then have a relationship with Rachel on the side, right? It would be great to have Breeda Wool return to the show in some capacity. She has been a marvel to watch as Faith.

Anna really is brainwashed. Like, she knows how manipulated and false the show is yet she's still falling for Adam. When she's at home watching the season on TV, she'll realize just how stupid she is.

Other tidbits from the episode:

  • Chet really thinks he's 21 or something, right? I loved how Quinn was on the plane taking the morning after pill as soon she left for LA. She knows if she has a baby with him, she's tied to him forever.
  • Madison just seems like an opportunist who is trying to move up the ranks. It was interesting she went to Dr, Wagerstein with the news that Quinn is attempting to get her to go after Chet.
  • Faith gave Adam the most beautiful goodbye and stayed true to her character. Every other chick has left the show all guns blazing. Can Faith have a spin-off?

"Princess" was an outstanding hour of television. The show is continuing to improve and has set the bar exceptionally high for the season finale. Will Rachel leave with Adam? Why is Britney back on the show? What will happen with Quinn? There are so many questions that I feel my head is going to explode if I don't get answers soon!
