CSI Officially Canceled; William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger to Return for Special Farewell

CBS has unveiled its new fall schedule and, as you can see, it does not include CSI.

The series has been canceled after a very impressive 15-year run.

But the network confirmed today that the drama will wrap up with a special movie event on Sunday, September 27.

It will include original cast members such as William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger, who are among the alums set to reprise their beloved roles for this farewell.

CSI, which ended its latest run with a still-strong 8 million viewers, roared out of the gate in 2000.

It averaged 20 million viewers by the end of Season 1, ranking among TV’s top 10 most popular shows and peaking during Season 5 with 26 million viewers.

It also launched the spinoffs CSI: Miami, CSI: NY and, most recently, the just-renewed CSI: Cyber, which will air on Sunday evenings this fall.
