Days of Our Lives Recap: Salem's Hillbilly Saint

at .

Will got snarky, Serena got mean and Clyde was declared the hillbilly patron saint of Salem on this week's Days of Our Lives.

Let's start with Will…You'd think we'd see some hint of remorse for cheating on his husband but I can't say I've noticed a moment. He's much more concerned about his career and what a hot article it will be if he can convince Paul to out himself.

Will even went so far as to get snarky with Sonny when he learned the new club had tanked before it had even begun and Sonny lost their savings.  When Sonny asked Will not to take that phone call about work in the middle of such an important conversation I wanted to smack Will when he said…

Now more than ever I need to work for us, don't I?

Will

Sonny has supported Will and Ari since the beginning and he never complained once. The moment they hit a rough spot, Will's throwing Sonny's failure in his face. Is there a bus leaving Salem and can someone put Will on it because Sonny might not be done with him but I certainly am.

And could Will move one seat over on that bus and make room for Serena? The only reason for her presence seems to be to spew venom at Nicole as she did in this Days of Our Lives quote

I am not putting this behind us and you want to know why? Because I see you for the lethal, toxic snake that you are.

Serena

Serena said Nicole was a "mean-spirited bitch" but I had to wonder if she was looking in a mirror. I haven't seen anything to like about Serena since her first week in Salem.

Clyde got his wish to be outed as the anonymous donor on Jordan and Abigail's project and Kate used his own son to do it. There are parts to Clyde that I find intriguing but this story about whether or not Jordan killed her own mother makes me want to fast forward. The one thing I like about Clyde is how he gets Chad, Rafe and Victor riled up.

Speaking of Victor, I never thought he'd open a nightclub but, what the hey? Especially fun was when he told Rafe to don a white tuxedo jacket like Rick in Casablanca. I would have like to have seen that. I also love how Victor can be a great guy one minute and his curmudgeonly self the next, as when Rafe didn't give him an answer right away…

I'm not going to stand here and beg you. Either you want the job or you don't.

Victor

Across Salem, Jennifer was begging JJ to tell her who he'd slept with. That's a little weird. Although I understand Jennifer's concern, what happened to her telling Eve that they should just let the kids work it out for themselves. Now she's determined to get JJ and Paige back together.

And Paige just turned into JJ's psycho ex-girlfriend as she vowed to hunt down the girl that he slept with…because whoever this mystery girl is she must be aware of how much Paige loves JJ. Does she truly believe that all of Salem is aware of the great love story of JJ and Paige? I'm really looking forward to her finding out the truth.

Maggie walked in on Brady and Melanie kissing and I wonder if she'll really be able to not share the news with Victor and Daniel.

Finally there was Aidan and Hope. I loved watching the realization wash over Hope's face as she admitted to Jennifer that she's in love with Aidan.  Aidan's obviously hiding something from his past. How long before we, and Hope learn exactly what that is?
