Glee took on an especially serious tone this week.

A bulk of "Bash" focused on a man being attacked due to his sexuality, with Kurt getting involved in the incident and ending up in the hospital.

This led to a very sweet scene between Kurt and his father, as well as one of the former's best solo performances in a long time.

Elsewhere on Glee Season 5 Episode 15, Sam and Mercedes rekindled their romance, swapping spit and holding hands along the East River, as Mercedes got over her silly race issues. Thank goodness.
