The Mentalist Season 6: What We Hope to See

at . Comments

September 29th feels like it's a long way off. Mostly because it is. And as much as we enjoy summer, the cool breezes of autumn and our favorite shows returning with new episodes weigh heavy on our minds.

So since we have to wait another 80-plus days for the season premiere of The Mentalist, we decided to make a list.

Read on, TV Fanatics, and see if our hopes and dreams for The Mentalist Season 6 match yours. Vote for what you'd most like to see happen come fall and don't forget to share your thoughts and add anything we've missed in the comments below.

Jane's Wild West

Our Mentalist Season 6 Wish List:

The Big Reveal. Yes, we finally want to know Red John's true identity. It's been five seasons. It's about time we know.

A Love Interest for Cho. One that doesn't involve a hooker, a junkie, or any other type of criminal. Someone worthy of the character we've grown to love.

More Rigsby and Van Pelt. It took a long time for these two to find their way back to one another. We're hoping to see this couple stay happy for a while.

Jisbon. That's the shipper name for Jane and Lisbon for those not in the know. A Jane / Lisbon pairing has been hinted at and teased for five seasons. It's included an I love you from Patrick that he later side stepped and many doe eyed looks for Teresa. It's about time these two had an honest conversation about how they feel for one another.

A Kiss. For those of us who don't care about the talking and want a little more action, a real kiss between this dynamic duo would make us cheer.

Casual Time. Wouldn't it be great to see the entire team spend a little more time outside the CBI?

Real Danger for Our Core Team. Show creator Bruno Heller promised that Red John will be targeting closer to home this season. We're hoping that means RJ will go after someone on Jane's immediate team. Not that we want to see Lisbon, Cho, Rigsby, or Van Pelt die at the hands of the merciless serial killer…but having one of them in serious peril will have us glued to the screen.

YOUR turn: Pick the story you're most hoping for on The Mentalist Season 6...

I can't drop this yet, I need to do some tweaking!

Kirkland may be Jane's wife's brother and in a mission of his own. He is related to Jane or Angela.

One more, Kirkland asked Lenon who worked for Red John and has seen him, do you know me? Lenon said no. How could Kirkland be Red John unless he had surgery? You can't do that working for Home Land Security, so Kirkland is not Red John!

Last big thing, Carney people don't like the police and they don't trust Jane anymore. They only talk to him for old time sake. They consider him the police and Jane himself said to Lenon and I quote, "I'm the police, I can't kill you!" Barlow said oh you're a law man now. Jane is now a Mark among his people.

Here is the second way it could have happened; Pete and / or Samantha gave the information to Barlow to save Roddy's life. Barlow gave the information to Red John so that he could exact his revenge on the Jane family. This is being done the same way Jane used Red John to kill the San Joaquin killer. Barlow used Red John to kill Lee Lee for being with his enemy. Pete / and or Samantha used Jane's secret to save Roddy's life.

I figured it out! How did Red John know about Lee Lee? Barlow and Jane's father were very close friends. Friends talk to each other about their children. Jane's father told Barlow the story and Barlow told Red John. When Jane and Lisbon were walking to Barlow's place Barlow was in the balcony, he had to have seen them coming. So, then why would he say he was not home. Since Barlow claims he and Red John are real psychics and we know they are not, the only thing left is Barlow told Red John.

Jane listed everyone in viable categories that he had shaken hands with who ALSO could have been at all the RJ crime scenes since his family's murder. That just means they were not in some location too far away from the crime scenes to have been there. Stiles could easily have been there, just as non-starters such as Smith and McCallister could have been there. Not a definite RJ indictor, just one that had to be included, like the handshakes. A better indicator is similarity between RJ and Jane. Narrow that down and only Stiles fits. However, I don't see how he could be acting alone the whole time. Kirkland has to fit in as the one who "wields the knife" as a stooge for Stiles, who does the masterminding.

One of the eps with Lorelei had her mother (I think) showing a photo of Lorelei as a child with her father. The father looked too much like Stiles not to mean something. I still have to link Stiles with Kirkland. Jane said Stiles never "wields the knife" himself. True. Like Volker, he has others do that and the most likely one given the overall story line is Kirkland. In Red Dawn, Alexa IDd herself as a "friend in the FBI" to Minelli. RJ has mentioned that he had "a friend in the FBI" feeding him info. Kirkland was with Alexa in the limo when she said that and told him, "Done." Kirkland smiled his approval. So I suspect he is the RJ who does the killing while Stiles is the RJ who runs the show.

What I don't understand is why Jane would think that Stiles would have been at all the crime scenes. What would place Stiles at any crime scene in the first place. Either Jane is wrong or there is another reason why he made the crime scene statement. Originally it was about handshakes, now it's about crime scenes? I think Jane's list may only contain 3 real suspects. Jane has to already suspect the real killer and may be using the list to draw him out. I suspect Jane has a fail safe built-in to his plan. I think Jane may even play Lisbon in this plan. He didn't come all this way to leave the possibility for a screw up. Jane is an off the board chess player, a mentalist. He should be able to reasonably calculate the behavior of all the players.
