The Mentalist Season 6: What We Hope to See

by at . Comments

September 29th feels like it's a long way off. Mostly because it is. And as much as we enjoy summer, the cool breezes of autumn and our favorite shows returning with new episodes weigh heavy on our minds.

So since we have to wait another 80-plus days for the season premiere of The Mentalist, we decided to make a list.

Read on, TV Fanatics, and see if our hopes and dreams for The Mentalist Season 6 match yours. Vote for what you'd most like to see happen come fall and don't forget to share your thoughts and add anything we've missed in the comments below.

Jane's Wild West

Our Mentalist Season 6 Wish List:

The Big Reveal. Yes, we finally want to know Red John's true identity. It's been five seasons. It's about time we know.

A Love Interest for Cho. One that doesn't involve a hooker, a junkie, or any other type of criminal. Someone worthy of the character we've grown to love.

More Rigsby and Van Pelt. It took a long time for these two to find their way back to one another. We're hoping to see this couple stay happy for a while.

Jisbon. That's the shipper name for Jane and Lisbon for those not in the know. A Jane / Lisbon pairing has been hinted at and teased for five seasons. It's included an I love you from Patrick that he later side stepped and many doe eyed looks for Teresa. It's about time these two had an honest conversation about how they feel for one another.

A Kiss. For those of us who don't care about the talking and want a little more action, a real kiss between this dynamic duo would make us cheer.

Casual Time. Wouldn't it be great to see the entire team spend a little more time outside the CBI?

Real Danger for Our Core Team. Show creator Bruno Heller promised that Red John will be targeting closer to home this season. We're hoping that means RJ will go after someone on Jane's immediate team. Not that we want to see Lisbon, Cho, Rigsby, or Van Pelt die at the hands of the merciless serial killer…but having one of them in serious peril will have us glued to the screen.

YOUR turn: Pick the story you're most hoping for on The Mentalist Season 6...

i just did this! except i really DID pare down my closet (summer clothes, at least) to the bare essentials and list the rest on eBay. still, it feels really liberating to know that i can wear everything in my closet right now without having to think about whether i actually like it or not, or if it fits – there were a lot of items in my closet that i just bought randomly because they were on sale. when my current clothes wear out, i am thinking i can replace them with slightly higher-end pieces of clothing that i will actually wear, because i will be able to find them in my closet. haha. anyway, this was a life saver – thanks!

@Creamy, Jane may be setting a trap by appearing to be weak to see who he can draw out. Somehow it seems like there may be someone on his immediate team he does not trust and needs to find them first before he can proceed. There is someone in-house that still needs to be found out. Someone who is leaking his loft info.

@Rationalgal, you're right, that 30% is the biggest part of who Jane might really be. He seems just as mysterious as Red John. I think part of the big reveal will have to do with Jane himself! He has managed mot to reveal anything about himself. He is the biggest elephant in the room. We really only know small bits and pieces. Jane has not just been living in hotel rooms and the loft for ten years. The biggest possibility is that he is living a double life. He seems to keep people at arms length. He gets them to trust him but he doesn't seem to trust them much.

What is even more intriguing for me is that, given the spoilers and the interview Mr.Heller gave, Jane is a little, let's say confused and this scares the hell out of Lisbon because she is telling him, that she never saw him like this before, not knowing what to do next about RJ.So my guess is that Jane is secretly planning something, he can't be scared right now when he's s close to RJ.Either he's playing everybody, Lisbon included or he's really out of his depth.Maybe Jane told Lisbon the secret list because he knwe she would tell the team!!!

Ani, you are SO creative ! You could be right! Don't wait until 5 minutes to 9 to turn on the TV. With that football game screwing up the schedule who knows when TM might start. I always turn the TV on an hour early just to be sure. Now for one last speculation: Jane has repeatedly mentioned that he doesn't tell Lisbon 30% of what he knows. What's in that 30%? His recruitment by a high level FBI agent (LaRoche?) to secretly work with him to find RJ? His consistently abused childhood suggested by his repeated aversion to sending kids to foster care or Child Protection Services? The whole Jane/Barlow/whatever carney family relationships that would explain everyone's motivations including RJ's? The answer to Heller's puzzle is in that hidden 30%.

With my last scenario Red John could be Jane's real brother, separated at birth. Ok, I'm totally done with this until tonight! TICK, TICK, TICK!

Anitraward1

The scenario I'm talking about is the stolen baby, child outside a marriage and half siblings. Is this a clue. If not, it was a fun idea!

What if I get 3 signatures and be admitted to the Looney bend! That's all folks!

What if Jane has been chasing two Red John's, one real and one fake? Just thinking.................. I do believe this is the third time in the series that this type of scenario has come up.................... WHY?

What if Jane was the half brother of Angela without either of them knowing it. They ran away and got married without anyone knowing it. Angela's family finds out and hires someone to kill all three of them. The killer may have thought that the show was prerecorded and that he would find all of the Janes at home. But unknown to the killer the show was recorded live. The killer only found Jane's wife and daughter at home and Killed them. The killer used the newly budding symbol of Red John and was killed for it. The real Red John took the credit for the killing. Red John was amused by the notion of Jane chasing after him until Jane got to close. In the meantime Angela's family hired Kirkland to find and kill red John so the deed of the crime would never come to light.
