@estatica make that a minority of two. I adore Baker as the Jane character over any other. You put it so well. As for Mr. Darcy ... mmmm nuf said!

besides, I have never been interested in a man's behind, ok it was fun to see Simon's but I'm also much more thrilled at the idea to go deeper into the Jane's character than Simon's rear end.

@Mimi
Oh Mimi, I hope you didn't take my comment the wrong way! I was just teasing! In no way I wanted to offend anybody. I know we're not crazy, just romantic fans :-)

Many years ago I was stuck at the end of a 80km long lake in the canadian wilderness with my then 'not yet' husband! There was a little log cabin without power. So candlelight and campfire it was for 3 days, while the wind blew too hard to get back in our little boat. There was only one sleeping bag, that we had to share and food was running out as well. I admit, I was getting a little worried, but he took the lead and got us through this without hesitation! These were the three most romantic days in my life (so far). So I hope to get a bit of danger, uncertainty and romance in this show soon!!!

I can see her face.. yes that's right, if I were her I'd hold him tight and never let him go.

@estatica Your analogy to Colin Firth's Mr. Darcy is quite apt! Another character, and actor who breathed that character into full life, that I adore! I have to admit, I wouldn't mind seeing Colin's hiney somewhere, maybe I have in another movie, but that is a sidelight to the character he brought us and if I have seen it I've already forgot it. You're right, it's the same with Patrick Jane. Simon Baker has made that character into as real a person as Firth's Mr. Darcy. The fact that I stumbled on pictures of Simon's hiney that defy the known rules of human anatomy, in my probably poor experience lol, is an enjoyable sidelight. Watching Baker's Patrick Jane become "undone" or unbuttoned by love for Lisbon is every bit as wonderful as watching Firth's Mr. Darcy become undone by love for Miss Elizabeth Bennett. And much better than a few hiney pictures.

Elastica, total sense! feel the same about him!

@katempw yes, I can see how it would happen! Both look great in that scene!

Now that I've thought about an unbuttoned Patrick Jane, I just remembered his unbuttoned state in 1x03 at the beach. Yeah, they could go for that look again for the first kiss. Jane and Lisbon physically exhausted from fighting bad guys. Jane reaching out to Lisbon, making sure she isn't hurt, hugging her (and for once she doesn't look like a deer caught in the headlights) and then just kissing her for good measure.

Oh crap, I think this thread has been a bad influence for me :p

If we are crazy fans, it's the show's own fault. When there's so much restraint, things tend to explode.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm not particularly interested in seeing Baker's behind in other movies. Baker is a beautiful man and wonderful actor, no doubt, but his Patrick Jane is like the equivalent of Colin Firth's Mr. Darcy. He's a dreamboat inside a riddle wrapped in a three piece suit. And Baker is just a real man, he can't compete with a legend like that. So at the end of the day I'd trade a thousand naked pictures of Simon Baker for an unbuttoned picture of Patrick Jane. Or one where he kisses Lisbon. Does this make any sense? :D

Bonaduz, why do you think we're crazy?

I think that with his wife Jane was different, I believe he was the kind of man to take the lead but then backed off for the obvious reasons. So here, with Lisbon, as he knows she loves him and when the time is right, he will take the first step for sure, it'll be like a rebirth of his own person., stepping out of his old life with RJ and entering a new one with Lisbon

Oh wow. Pilot episode. Never saw that picture of Patrick and his two girls on the hall wall before. It's lovely. So sad.
