Drop Dead Diva: Revived by Lifetime, Receives Season 5 Order
So much for killing off Drop Dead Diva.
Weeks after Lifetime announced it had canceled this TV Fanatic favorite, the network shocked fans yesterday by announcing a dramatic change of course.
According to Deadline, Sony TV has devised a more feasible “financial model” for the series, helping it receive that elusive fifth season order.
No word yet on just when the Brooke Elliott dramedy will return or for how many episodes... but hooray! We'll update fans as more information comes in.

I loved this show but felt that sometimes the guest stars overshadowed things. I would be fine with fewer of them. I really loved Owen too but hated that he became Jane. I agree make it a dream sequence & have her marry Owen.

I loved this show - but it needed a kick in the pants. It wasn't the same.
And maybe I'm a buzzkill, but "a better financial model" scares me. What the heck does this mean? If they mess the show up, I'm going to be very upset.

OK I get it. All this was just hype Lifetime wanted to stir up. You really don't know your audience if you felt that was needed. Of course I'll keep watching, but I'd rather be watching her on ABC!!

This is satisfying and disapointing at the same time. I completed HATED the season ending cliff hanger...now Owen is the origional Jane? SERIOUSLY? What a horrible plot twist; were the Jump The Shark website still out there, this episode would be featured as a key JTS moment in Diva history. Please, make the last five minutes of that show a dream sequence and either kill Owen or keep him...but what we are walking into now is going to be the Season 6 that never should have been.

There's an interview on TVLine with Josh Berman. He essentially says that Season 5 will be the same 13 episode order, only presented later this year. The quality of the show shouldn't be affected. He says season 5 will be the best season yet.
