Brian Buckner Takes Over as True Blood Showrunner
Matt Richenthal at .Changes are once again afoot on True Blood.
The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Mark Hudis - who replaced Alan Ball as showrunner in anticipation of Season 6 - has now been replaced himself by writer/co-executive producer Brian Buckner.
A HBO spokesperson says Hudis is stepping down to “to focus on development under his overall deal with the network."
Buckner, a staff member since the beginning, will take over right away and finish off production on True Blood Season 6.
No premiere date has been announced, but look for new episodes of the thriller to debut in June.
