Body of Proof Review: Hot Faces of Philadelphia

at . Comments

"Fallen Angel" showed us just how hot Kate could be when paired with the right partner.

In Body of Proof season 2, I hated Kate with Megan's ex Tod. I never felt any chemistry between them and I always believed that Kate could do much better.

Kate's Handsome Stranger

In walked Sergei. He had it all. The handsome face, the body, the sexy accent and the dangerous mystique. The two quickly ended up between the sheets in some very racy bedroom scenes. And between Sergei in a towel and Kate in some fabulous lingerie, there was plenty of eye candy to go around.

But Kate's love life quickly took a turn for the worse as she lamented to Megan in this Body of Proof quote

Kate: The first guy I like turns out to be a murderer.
Megan: Maybe a multiple murderer. | permalink

Leave it to Megan to be supportive.

The opening scenes of that poor girl crawling in the alley after being shot were agonizing. She'd been through so much and fought so hard. To have her bleed out in an alley was thoroughly depressing. When we saw Sergei standing over her I honestly thought he was the bad guy.

Thankfully I was wrong. Sergei turned out not only to be handsome, but also a hero who risked himself to save the girls caught up in the sex trafficking ring and ultimately Oksana's child. It was too bad he wasn't sticking around a little longer, but then again I don't see how a soldier for hire fits in to Kate's future political aspirations. That could get very messy.

With Kate and Sergei taking the spotlight, there wasn't much room for anyone else. Megan and Tommy took more of a back seat this week, although I couldn't believe Tommy was willing to send Kate back into that hotel room.

I sided with Megan on that one. If Sergei had been a trained killer, the risk was far too great. I won't even bother to point out the illegality of replanting evidence since they were all obviously willing to look the other way.

This was the second episode I felt we didn't get nearly enough Curtis and Ethan. I hope the next installment remedies that situation. I miss these boys in action.

I haven't been the biggest fan of Kate's political aspirations this season, so this story line reminded me how likable this character can truly be. Let's hope we get to see more soon.

Excellent story this week. Nice to see the Kate persona this week. Hope the producers repeat that ! Jeri Ryan still has the body of Seven Of Nine !!!

Sergi Ivan Sergei

I was highly amused by Megan's comment that she just started keeping Kate so closely updated when she saw how much it bugged her. I've done that myself. Passive-aggressive torture. Lovely! I don't like Tommy, but Peter was becoming a serious jerk. I am not sorry the character is gone, but I did like the actor quite a lot. I like Tommy's actor, just not the character. And sending Kate back into that room was NASTY. It is also quite amusing to see Jeri Ryan portraying a budding politician, given that her ex-husband is an Illinois politician....

I have been searching and cannot find an Sergei William Levy?

Did I miss something? When was Luke Perry on? I wish they would leave Kate to business have more Megan on the job and Curtis and Ethna are a MUST.

I am also still torn between the "old" and the "new" show set-up. I really liked Peter. Hopefully, next week, the episode won't be a revival of last seasons two-parter. I liked Luke Perry's character, but to have an outbreak in Philly twice this close together? Even for me, watching and knowing it is all made-up fluff, I expect some sort of possibility in the story lines, and this one is making me question that. Guess we will see what happens.

@ChristineOrlando - Very race scene between Sergei & Kate? That is quite an understatment - lol!!!! I've watched "soapy" type programs for a long, long time (& I don't exactly put BoF in this category) but that scene was closing in on soft porn! WOW!!!! I really enjoyed this particular episode. I am not as crazy in the shift in storytelling, taking it in a "sci-fi" type show. I really like Mark Valley - just not with Dana Delaney (bring back Peter & I know that's not happening as he died at the end of last season.) I REALLY like Dana Delaney, the writers just tend to write her character to be so snotty & aloof thinking she's smarter & better than the others. Her character can be quite offensive & abrasive when she speaks. I just wish they would soften her up a bit. I still really like the show & the idea behind it so I won't stop watching it. Ms. Delaney is very beautiful & I really enjoy her scenes with her daughter, Lacey, too.

But how do we get to see more of Ivan Sergei?!
