NCIS Promo & Sneak Peek: Back in the Trenches

at . Comments

Vance is back this week on NCIS, but not everyone knows what to make of that.

The agency shot-caller has been noticeably MIA for two episodes following the stunning death of his wife, along with Eli David. Deputy Director Craig (Greg Germann) has been at the helm in his absence.

When Vance resurfaces this week, it's likely to result in some tension with Craig, as well as Gibbs, who will no doubt question Leon's reasons - and readiness. And then there's the safe deposit box.

Check out the promo for "Hereafter" below and see what you make of it:

CBS' official synopsis reads: "On leave from NCIS while still grieving the loss of his wife and his kids’ mother, Vance discovers unexpected personal information that causes him to question everything."

What do you think it is that the director finds out? And how will he react?

Share your comments and theories below, and watch a sneak preview clip from Tuesday night's episode in which Leon returns to NCIS and signals his intentions of working with the team:

look forward to seeing the Director back and I think it will be interesting watching him with the team.

good to see VANCE BACK I DO'NT LIKE GREG GERMANNS PART-----------------------

I'm surprised by all the negativity toward Vance, unless it's just one person posting over and over using different names. Vance has been a solid character and I think it will be interesting to see what his wife has been keeping from him.

This kinda of remind me of when Jenny went on that trip to france to find out her father might still be alive I wonder if it will be something like that

I won't speculate as to what Vance finds in the safe deposit box; I'm usually wrong about that stuff anyway. However, I don't think he finds out Jackie was planning on divorcing him or some such. She had Vance appeared to have a happy life. I think he finds out that she often needed to go to some odd extremes to manage her family under often unmanageable circumstances; ask any wife and/or mother if they haven't had the same experiences. In any event, I think Vance is returning to work as an "agent" temporarily because he needs a distraction more than anything else. How long can he sit at home and grieve, after all? He needs to start taking steps to return to a "normal" life and routine, which can only be a good thing for him and his children. As a (temporary) agent, he has the "safety net" of Gibbs and Co. As Director, his responsibility is absolute, and I don't think he's ready to step back into that role just yet.

Idiot Vance is the one that invited against his wives wishes the head of a very volatile organization and didn't even tell his bosses. He should be fired. God love us he really isn't the director of the Ncis in real life. I want Jenny back. At least she had brains.

Vance is the responsible person . He brought a wanted man into his home with his family. He should be fired. Shame on him. I'm not sure how they are going to make him seem less guilty but he could have been responsible for his children dead and also Ziva. I say lets get a new director.

How wierd would it be if Jackie was working with the people who know who Vance really is

I'm looking forward to seeing this episode and whatever secret is revealed about Jackie to Vance tomorrow night. I know Rocky will do an awesome job and can't imagine anybody else playing Vance and I hope Vance continues to be the director for as long as the series is on the air. I'm also looking forward to seeing Vance interact with Team Gibbs....that should be an interesting experience.

You all are blaming Vance for his wife death when really its Ziva she the one who did not do her job infact you can even blame gibbs but not Vance he as innoncet as a rabbit. One issue I have is should't Ziva be off the team these is what the third time she has put a memeber of the team life at risks

NCIS Season 10 Episode 15 Quotes

Ziva: DiNozzo, pull it together.
Tony: Kids. This is way above my pay grade. I spent the afternoon in a child care clinic when I almost lost my life.
Ziva: Stop stop stop stop. We're doing the director a favor, okay? We just need to be here, we need to be normal. Can you just please do that for a few hours?
Tony: Sure. Fine.
Ziva: Fine.
Tony: Only because you asked nicely.

Vance: Do you have a suitcase packed, Jerome?
Craig: Always Leon. You know that.
Vance: Good. I'll be in touch.
