Leah Pipes Cast as Human Lead on The Originals
The Originals has found its Elena. Sort of.
Leah Pipes (Sorority Row, The Deep End) has been cast on The Vampire Diaries spinoff in the role of Camille, a human bartender who is also a psychology student and - as the result of a very personal trauma - is interested in learning if anyone can truly be born evil.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Camille will be drawn to Klaus... but unaware that her section of New Orleans is teeming with supernatural beings.
Pipes will appear on the spinoff's April 26 backdoor pilot episode of The Vampire Diaries Season 4.
She joins already-cast series regulars Daniella Pineda and Danielle Campbell (as witches named Sophie and Davina, respectively) and Charles Michael Davis (as Klaus' dangerous protege, Marcel).

Why do I have the impression that the "April 26 backdoor pilot episode" will become rather crowded?

ugh, this thing is failing before it even starts. This has to be the least interesting set up for a lead character ever. Who is casting this? Are they picking names from a hat? I'm concerned that they say she's a bartender who studies psychology and not the other way around.
