mimi, try Sunset Strip, The Reststaurant or the Red Planet. They have a little more substance.

Sorry I misspelled Darwin in last email. And here I am celebrating Darwin Week this week! So embarrassing!

Great analysis all the way HC! I agree. As for Simon, he has had to take acting jobs in some movies that were crummy (and in the Guardian - yes Lulu was the worst thing that happened to him and he rolled over for all of it). However, in all the crummy movies, he turned his role into a gem! I watch other movies on DVD and think how well or much better Simon could have done it. Just watched "Darwon's Darkest Hour" a National Geographic film about Charles Darwon. OMG! What a great move that would have been for Simon! Henry Ian Cusic (TM's Volker) played Darwin, and Frances O'Conner (Simon's Book of Love) played his wife. Also watched The Descendents, with George Clooney. Again, Simon would have done better. Same with Brad Pitt movies. No comparison!

Simon also has other series on youtube. E street, Home and away, The secrect of mens business and Heartbreak High. In heartbreak High he drives the same kind of car he does in The Mentalist, it's gray or silver.

I second everything you said HC! terrible!I would never get over a sad ending for TM, seriously! I'd hate that and resent Bruno for it.

re: guardian. hated lulu. as their relationship went on, she gave him more and more pain and he signed on for all of it. when the series ended with his down's syndrome baby living with her mother in a home bought by her father but owned complexly by the mother. nothing the father had given her was in the father's name but in her mother's. the child would not have the father's. nick wound up replacing his als-suffering boss and becoming the head of the legal services organization -- a thankless depressing job. i felt so bad for nick. i'm terrified that bruno and friends are going to dream up an huis clos (no exit) for simon and the rest of the unit. everyone's trapped or dead or unhappy. please let patrick has the ending he deserves.

new word! crummy! thanks..synonyms for crummy: bad, terrible

well they were not my cup of tea, that doesn't mean the movies were crap. but I get what you mean!

yeah simon did a bunch of crummy movies. he'll attest to that. the mentalist gives him chance to be offered better roles in better films because he doesn't need money. i think playing in breath is exactly the role he needs to jump to be a film actor not just a fabulously rich tv person.

Then I had a look on his filmography and watched Something new which I really liked because it was so cute, I needed a cold shower afterwards obviously.
I watched Sex and death 101 and well.. I was not fond of it. wouldn't watch it twice.
then Women in trouble, a bit bizarre but ok. wouldn't watch it twice either.
I never saw Smith, so thank you for reminding me of it, I'll have alook.
I saw book of love, didn't like it much either

there you go.. but I cant want for Give it a year because I love the producer and it really looks hilarious.

hello!

ah HC yes the ceremony was lovely, I cried like a baby, I found his speech so moving and also the fact that he didn't believe in himself much and his friends did and were supportive all along, it touched me because my friends are the same and I don't know what I'd do without them. Bless him!

I have never watched Smith! can you believe it? so for a recap: I fell in love with TM last xmas, I watched all season in a very short time (from morning till evening, almost no pauses, crazy me) then I wanted to learn more about Simon, so I checked the net and found a few movies and series. I then decided to try The Guardian but I didn't like it, I haven't even finished the last season, and I would fastforward on the epi just to see if he was going to marry Lulu or not. By the way, I hate her character, he deserved better. Cont
