Jessica Simpson to Star in NBC Sitcom

She's already been a reality star and a singing star. Up next for Jessica Simpson? Sitcom star.

NBC has ordered a comedy pilot starring Simpson that will be based around her the artist's life, with the celebrity explaining via statement:

"I often find myself thinking that no one could ever make up the things that actually happen in my life - so between the real life elements and a great team of writers, I think we’ll have people laughing!"

The multi-camera series will be penned by Nick Bakay and executive produced by Simpson's father Joe, along with Ben Silverman, who says:

“From running a fashion empire to wrangling her public image as a new mom, we see Jessica’s character approach a variety of ‘everyday’ circumstances that will get audiences laughing out loud.”
