Hart of Dixie Review: The Ruined Louboutins

at . Comments

"Old Alabama" marked the return of Hart of Dixie Season 2. Finally!

It was Pioneer Day in Bluebell and remembering the past came with a price of one's sanity! From Lemon and Annabeth staging a fake break up to Zoe turning into Lemon Breeland, it was quite the episode!

Pioneer Day in Bluebell

In my interview with Hart of Dixie creator and executive producer Leila Gerstein, I asked her if they sat around in their writers room and tried to use as much innuendo as possible' she laughed and said yes. (Check out the interview with Leila). This episode showed just how much the writers do "beat around the bush," so to speak, when it comes to the sexual humor in this show.

The dialogue in this episode was some of the funniest it has ever been. I was laughing so loud that my roommate asked me to quiet down! How could I? Brick was talking like we'd never heard Brick speak before and Zoe was channeling her inner Lemon!

Every storyline tonight had some sort of comedy that went along with it. My favorite being Brick trying to break up with Shelby yet getting quickly distracted when she mentioned lingerie. Excuse me while I put this bluntly, Brick: you were thinking with the wrong head. Too much? Well, he basically said it himself. When Brick asked George to break up with her, he used the compliment sandwich, causing Shelby to quickly discover that George was behind it. Cue the slap across the face... Again!

Elsewhere, we saw Zoe Hart becoming Lemon Breeland, turning every single negative in her life, specifically those negatives from Wade Kinsella, into positives. How did she deal with the stress? As southern women call it, she had "projects." We've never seen Zoe in such a caring and southern role that it was very comedic. It felt out of place and for once that was a good thing.

The worst part of tonight was when I had to watch the raccoon tear apart Zoe's Christian Louboutins. As a woman who loves fashion and Christian Louboutin's designer heels, that almost brought me to tears. You just don't ruin those heels. It's like a slap in the face to women. RIP Zoe's Louboutin's, I'll remember their beauty forever. I hope that raccoon paid for it's sin against fashion.

Moving on...

The tables turned to the dramatic when we had Lemon trying to convince Lavon to let her help him but he wanted nothing to do with it. Gerstein said it best when she said that Lavon and Lemon are the "epic" couple of Hart of Dixie. I couldn't agree more. There is so much push and pull between these two characters that you pine for them to be together, you root for them even when they're happy with other people. This is what shippers a "one true pairing" or "OTP," meaning that they are meant to be together in the end.

I will go down with the Lemon/Lavon ship!

This episode had me laughing hysterically, enjoying every storyline that was given to me, and had me rooting for Brick to stay with crazy Shelby.

How goes it, tidy web page you've got presently.

iam so missing SHELLY although i loved this episode.

For some reason I wanted to see an Annabeth and Lavon pairing. She needs a love interest. That would be a very interesting triangle.

I saw the spoiler of next episode and I agree with CastleFan.

This episode was a fantastic way to come back from winter break. I too loved George being as he put it everyones "Dr. Phil" for relationship advice. As an avid Zade shipper I was extremely pleased with all the scenes they had together and cannot wait to see the continuing development of their romantic relationship. As for Brick and Shelby I am still on the fence how I want that to play out. My favorite dialog exchange of the night was between Wanda and Tom at First Feast when she said "they had strip clubs in the pioneer days?" and Tom quickly responded by saying "Yes Wanda, they have been around since the bible." I have to say I am not looking forward to George's mother's return next week especially since she has an ulterior motive and does not want to leave well enough alone in George's current love life

Another great episode. I have faith that Wade's "immaturity" was amped up as part of a larger story arc that we have yet to see. That is what happened in the premiere with Wade and he changed quickly. And actually Wade has great moments in between the bouts of Wadeness where like when he came to Zoe and talked about the book and how it is ok to just be themselves. And yes they will fight, but that is fine. They want to be together so that is all that matters. I also love that he doesn't want Zoe to change who she is. George and Brick were hilarious. As someone else mentioned I love George in this role of friend, funny guy, and mediator/adviser. It fits him and feels natural. And I like him there. He is much more relaxed and having fun. Not feeling Lavon and Lemon either but LG seems to be set on that pairing. I just want Lemon's sad face to go away and Lavon to be less mean.

My sister in law and I were talking about this past episode yesterday and honestly, Zade are so, so, so adorable. Bethels' body - thank you! We're sort of team Lemon and Lavon... just because we want to see what would happen. I loved the moment when Wade confronted Zoe after their first tiff . When she said she didn't want to end up like her parents and he's all "hold on..." it was nice seeing them both indirectly talking about themselves as a couple, in the long term. Oh, and that scene in the kitchen - pretty much perfect! :)

Tom Long was hilarious!

This episode was hilarious! But I am getting SO sick of Lemon pining over Lavon. I think they make a terrible couple and I don't see them as more than friends. Why do the writers keep on trying to force this?? If I have to see Lemon saying "we were in love once, and lord help me I still think I am" on the preview one more time, I might throw something at the tv.

Drea xoxo

loved the episode!!! zade i am committed and wanted fom day 1. glad ruby gone, lavon needs to be mayor hayes again n forget his women trouble. him n ruby was never going to work! different outlook on life. george n tansy work so keep it. shelly n brick work keep it. lemon and lavon work as friends best, george would never allow it otherwise. the town as per usual are hilar. lemon n annabeth are funny n should focus on their business rather than anything else.

My God, did you just give me the compliment sandwich. Where is he?! GEORGE TUCKER get your butt out here! What is going on here? Are you dumping me again?

Did you say startled or scarred? Because seeing you and Shelby... Wow.
