Vampire Diaries Season 4 Promo Pic

Best Episode: "Memorial." One of my favorites in series history. It featured a tensely-filmed church showdown, he delved into the new Elena, every main character was given something important to do and that ending with Alaric... oh, that ending with Alaric. Tear.

Worst Episode: "O Come, All Ye Faithful." One of my least favorites in series history. A jumbled mess of two non-sensical storylines: 1. Tyler volunteering to case himself in concrete for some inexplicable reason; 2. Elena and Damon continuing to debate the absurd sire bond.

Best Character: Elena. Her transition has driven the season, with the character's changes affecting everyone around her in the especially intriguing early episodes. Nina Dobrev has been outstanding in her portrayal.

Worst Character: Bonnie. I'm sorry, but it's always Bonnie. She's putting every ounce of trust into this Professor Shane guy simply because... he took over teaching for her grandmother? NOTE: if Damon continues to be as irritating has he has been, when it comes to the sire bond and doing the "right thing" and all that nonsense, I may change my vote.

Best Storyline: Jeremy, his transformation into a hunter and the mark that can only grow when he kills vampires.

Worst Storyline: The sire bond. Need I explain why?

Biggest Waste of a Guest Star: Phoebe Tonkin. Perhaps we'll learn a lot more about her now that she's turned on Tyler, but Hayley just showed up out of nowhere; the audience was simply told of her connection to Tyler; she uttered a few snarky slams; and then proceeded to play a major role in the winter finale. In other words: she was nothing more than a plot device.

Most Impressive Wife-Beater-Wearing Physique: Jeremy Gilbert.

Hopes for 2013: Get Elena and Damon together. Period. I'm not a Delena shipper, I'm only a storyline "shipper" and this sire bond is flat out ridiculous. It's totally contrived and plays like an excuse to extend the love triangle infinitely. Let's turn the focus back to the hunt for The Cure, the mystery of The Council death and how The Five plays into all this. I want mythology, not romance.

Overall Grade: C (NOTE: It would have been an A after the first four episodes.)

Your turn, TVD lovers. What grade would you give Season 4 so far?

elena the best character? seriously?
she's been even more annoying and besides being weepy about being a vampire her only concern is which salvatore to screw

Hopes for 2013:
more Originals (not only regarding the number of them but also the screentime they get), Stefan should move on (actually I like him much more without Elena), Caroline calms down (pleeeaaase) and of course the Cure/12 of everything/Silas/Shane stuff unfolding!

I totally agree with "Memorial" and "O Come, All Ye Faithful" being the best resp. worst episode! However, best character goes to Klaus imo. I like the stronger Elena now, but until she broke up with Stefan she was still the weepy, annoying girl. The Original, on the other hand, is always fun to watch. Yep, Bonnie is worst character. Again. Not sure if it's the writers fault or because the actress shows just what feels like three facial expressions in total. Best storyline: Silas/Shane and the mysterious need for 12 of everything, as fayeolivia put it ;) Worst storyline: Sire bond. I agree on biggest waste of a Guest Star! All Hayley has done until she turned against the hybrids was being snarky, looking sulky and having a connection out of nowhere with "Ty". Plot device all the way. Overall Grade: C, because they totally ruined a very promising start.

What???Seriously? i disagree with everything!
Best episode: the five
worst episode: we all always have burbon street
best character: Klaus
worst character: Matt
Best storyline : the brotherhood of the 5 hunters and the cure
Worst storyline: Sire bond (both Elena and the hybrids)
Biggest waste of time of guest: hayley i agree on that(i would have been April but Memorial was satisfying and she undaggered Rebekah so..)
Hopes: get rid of the sire bond, get delena together, give stefan a hookup, stop eith ''let's kill klaus'',klaroline, focus on the mythology..and more originals!
grade: b (it would have been A counting until 4x07)

Fortyseven

Grade: F-

Biggest waste of a guest star: So far nobody. Shane, April and Hayley are only just getting started and I'm looking forward to where they go next. Hopes for 2013. Elena fighting with Stefan and Caroline to convince them that she has real (non-sire-bond-y) feelings for Damon. Damon and Elena together in a no-sex-because-you're-sired-but-I-love-you-and-this-is-building-up-the-sexual-tension-nicely kind of way. Rebecca back and more plot for April. Dark Bonnie. More about Silas! Overall Score: B

Best Episode: The Killer. Love vamp Elena finally getting her murder on! Worst Episode: O Come All Ye Faithful. I don't think that really needs an explanation! Though I did like it more 2nd time round. Best Character: Elena. Ok, so being sired takes away her independence a bit, but I like seeing her stronger, more capable, and forcing her feelings on Damon rather than the other way round. Worst Character: Bonnie. Those flickering lights were lame girl. But I'm hoping things will pick up for her later in the season as she gets more into this "expression" business. Best Storyline: Silas and the mysterious need for 12 of everything. Worst Storyline: I'm actually not going to say the sire bond. Its frustrating but I do understand it as a plot device. What I didn't like was, though I love the Jeremy storyline, him being all mystically convinced not to kill Elena because of something to do with Bonnie? Way too easy and not very convincing. Biggest waste of a guest star: So far, nobody. Shane, April and Hayley are all just getting started and I'm sure their storylines are going to get far bigger and more complex. More impressive physique: Don't hate me but Jeremy's arms are TOO big for my tastes :) Nina Dobrev is looking good this season. A few extra pounds suits her. And Damon of course! Hopes for 2013: Elena fighting Caroline and Stefan to convince them that she has real (none-sire-bond-y) feelings for Damon. Elena and Damon together in a we-can't-have-sex-because-you're-sired-but-I-love-you-and-this-is-building-the-sexual-tension-nicely kind of way. Rebecca back and more plot for April. More murder-y Klaus. Dark Bonnie. More about Silas. Overall Grade: B

You want mythology, not romance? This show started off as a show about a girl dating a vampire, with a brother added in there for a love triangle. This show has always been about romance.

Vampire Diaries Quotes

You want a love that consumes you. You want passion and adventure, and even a little danger... I want you to get everything you're looking for. But for right now, I want you to forget that this happened. Can't have people knowing I'm in town yet. Goodnight, Elena.

Damon

Damon: You know what they are? Children. Like lighting a candle's going to make everything OK, or even saying a prayer. Or pretending Elena's not going to end up just like the rest of us murdering vampires. Stupid, delusional, exasperating little children. And I know what you're going to say: 'It makes them feel better, Damon.' So what? For how long? A minute, a day? What difference does it make? Because in the end, when you lose somebody, every candle, every prayer is not going to make up for the fact that the only thing you have left is hole in your life where that somebody that you cared about used to be. And a rock with a birthday carved into it that I'm pretty sure is wrong. So thanks, friend. Thanks for leaving me here to babysit. Because I should be long gone by now. I didn't get the girl, remember? I'm just stuck here fighting my brother and taking care of the kids. You owe me big.
Alaric: I miss you too, buddy.
