@El: You do know that Wincest is fictional right? And it's not the first incest based pairing. People ship this kind of stuff a lot. Back in my "BTVS" days I'd have given anything to have Buffy and Dawn do the deed (they were sisters, btw). When watching the "Gilmore Girls" I was more interested in Rory and Loreli kissing than being mother and daughter! Okay so for me it was more about shipping the actresses together (mmmm....) but still. I don't actively ship Wincest anymore (Destiel sort of stole my heart) but in general I don't find fictional incest offensive. In RL, maybe it's something I'd have a hard time accepting but in TV? It's not real! So lighten up!

Im laughing so hard right now. Oh you butthurt little soul. I love season 8, the ratings are higher than than last season's and most importantly, Cas is back. I love season 8 SO MUCH IT HURTS. I'm hoping to see more of Dean and Cas, I love them way too much together, and I want Sam to FINALLY tell the truth to Amelia and his brother. Gosh, I'm excited, I can't wait for the next episode to air.

@C: Hopefully reasonable fans on ALL sides remember that not one person will ever represent an entire faction of people. There are plenty of reasonable Wincest fans and plenty of reasonable fans who just aren't happy with season 8. It happens. Everyone should have a right to express their opinion. I'd personally just be less pissy if people would do it without lashing out at others especially awesome friends of mine like @onamelancholyhill.

@wow: You can have your take on "KristyHobbs1" but the fact is that you didn't interact with her. I did. I saw her when she manipulated her fan account after being called out on her being a so called destiel fan when she first hit the fandom. Her rouse was shady as hell. So refer to her as a "random fan" if that makes you feel better but I have no doubt in my mind she was indeed a Jared fan. I'd stake my life on it. That's how sure I am. But anyway, she's gone so who cares. Nothing's to be done about it now.

Anyway, I will believe she is some random person rather then believe she is a Jared fan. I just can't believe a Jared fan would say the stuff she did. Anyway, for me. I watch for the characters, not big on Cas, but I do like the chemistry he has with Dean and hope interaction will come along for Sam and Cas. My main reasoning for watching is not team free will though, I see comments like that but I think it's a deflection because I know Destiel shippers know they can't have what they want without Sam there, so Team Free Will is a slogan used. But I ignore that, I will let you guys like what you like, but I watch for Sam an Dean. That's all. If I come of as harsh, well, you are not so innocent in this whole comment section being so embarrassing. Seriously, this is my last piece because I am starving LOL. I see Destiel shippers saying Kristyhoobs was a troll. In my reasoning they only say that because that idiot was not a good representation of the Destiel fandom. But I can not and will not believe this perosn was a Jared. Nope can't do it. This person threatened Jared, his wife and his child. wishing he was dead before he was born and then when he was born calling him vile things. No way would a Jared fan say that. But then again most J2 tinhats are vile towards Jared, I cannot understand why. Mind boggling.

And one more thing, I am NOT against Wincest. And I would never be such a vile person as to try to make the CW think badly of Wincest in order to separate the brothers. First of all, incest in fiction or in RL is none of my business. Consenting adults is my personal limit. If people are of age, let them have at it! Secondly, I ship Destiel but I love Dean/Sam too. I actually started as a Wincest shipper. YES, THAT'S RIGHT. I was also a huge sam!girl for about 6 seasons. I've never been a huge Dean!girl. I don't hate him, but I have this thing where I don't like men who are portrayed as womanizers and who give off this "I am man, hear me roar". Plus being gay, I didn't care for a lot of his gay jokes. Plus, I'm a nerd so I relate most to Sam. I also wasn't a Cas fan until season 6. And I wasn't a Destiel shipper until season 7. So I'm not anti-Dean/Sam or anti-Wincest. AT ALL.

I'm not saying the romantic undertones are meant to or will ever lead anywhere concrete, but it's obvious the writers and actors are intentionally including them just as they included the wincest innuendo intentionally. However, the big difference to me is that Dean being anything other than 100% straight in and of itself won't make me think less of him or stop watching the show (if it would make one of you do that you are either homophobic or invested in another ship), but if he had some incestuous relationship with his brother I would think less of him and stop watching.

Uh. I ship wincest pretty hardcore and I am about to drown in secondhand embarrassment because of this WOW person. Not all of us are like him/her, please don't let them color your perception of all wincest shippers. Because of my ship of choice I do have some concerns about this season, but I'm willing to wait and see how the plot develops further in. We're only a third of the way into the season...
Also, to remark on something I read further back, the actors don't have ship preferences. Jensen doesn't hate destiel. Jensen probably doesn't give a fuck about it. They are grown ass professional men who are doing their JOBS. Making comments about ships at conventions is just them poking at us to make us happy. Him saying the show is about ~brothers~ doesn't mean he ships wincest and hates destiel. The level of delusion and, frankly, disrespect is so embarrassing oh my god I don't want to be associated with people who think like this just because I ship the same thing as them.

Whoa! Quite a lot of comments, but, unfortunately, many from the same posters fighting amongst themselves.
I love Castiel. I'm walking a very thin line as far as watching this show since my enjoyment of it is bound by what happens with Cas and his storyline. He's what brought me back to the show and he will likely determine if I stay.
I hope Dean and Cas continue to develop their friendship and I hope Sam and Dean can reconnect in a manner which leaves them happier than they have been to this point. I hope the show can manage to integrate Amelia more successfully than they have until now and that she becomes more popular.
Does anyone seriously think Sam will leave Dean alone to stay with Amelia at this time in the show? Seriously? Hysteria rules!
For those who gripe about the "delusional Destiel" fans seeing or hearing things that aren't there, I wonder if these very vocal haters are watching this show with their eyes shut and/or cotton in their ears. (Although based on

So when YOU say that Destiel shippers want to make J2/Wincest fans look bad you have it backwards. If destiel shippers are defensive about J2/wincest fans *now* it's because people in your side of the woods have made us that way. Everyone has bad seeds but we don't create entire communities of hate like spn-gossip where people like kristyhobbs1 no doubt came from. There is no excuse for why anyone should be a member in that site or support a place that hates on everyone from J2 to the writers.

Then eventually in the weeks that followed, J2 fans (especially Sam!Girls) started getting angry at "destiel shippers" as though all of us were somehow connected to Kristyhobbs. Eventually more such trolls popped up, each with the EXACT m.o. They'd bash Jared (send him death threats) and the only personal information they'd share about themselves was that they were a destiel shipper. Yes, how convenient that these troll accounts with the same behavior pattern, profile images, and background wallpapers all represented these magical destiel creatures who bashed Jared and his family as though they were paid for it. Needless to say, this charade has caused a lot of fandom drama and a lot of misconceptions about destiel shippers that are still harbored today. The sad thing is that anyone can pretend to be a destiel shipper on articles like this or places like tumblr. they can create havoc just to ruin the reputation of a group of people.

You have it backwards. J2 tin hats (and I'm not saying YOU) are the ones who started to systematically attempt to portray Destiel shippers in a bad light. It started with KristyHobbs1 who started sending outrageous amounts of hate to Jared on twitter. Death threats and all. The only distinguishing characteristic this troll had was that she was a self-proclaimed Destiel shipper. When people questioned her on that, myself included, she started to change her twitter account and her story. It was very, very clear that she was a Jared fan trying to gain sympathy for Jared and trying to rile up hate for Destiel in the process. Of course, it's hard to argue that a person is crazy enough to set up such an elaborate rouse so regardless of her motivation she kept on trolling and pissing people off. She was banned, suspended, but kept coming back. All she'd do is claim to be a destiel shipper and bash Jared. Like the two were peanut butter and jelly. You couldn't have one without the other. Then
