Who said anything about caring if Dean is gay or bi or anything else. But he's not bi or anything else, he's not gay. Its not homophobic not to be gay. Fans can see what they want but the writers have written Dean as NOT Gay. Just like you can't make him have red hair just because you want too. Theres nothing wrong with not being Gay. Its o.k. I'm sure the gay/lesbian/bi movement won't be hurt that Dean Winchester is not on their team.

Take your homophobia somewhere else. Any you know. Bisexuality exists. Sexuality is fluid. I don't tolerate your homophobic SCREAMING about how Dean is not gay. If people want queer representation in the show, they are allowed to voice it and the writers can decide to act on it or not. If Dean wants a man, that wouldn't make him effeminate or less of a badass hunter.

Are you honestly surprised you've been debating with a wincest shipper? the only people who care enough to come in here and hate on Cas and Destiel are Wincest shippers. Funny how you caught it at the co-dependent part but I caught it at the whole "I'm not a wincest shipper part" that whole denial of shiping wincest is the M.O of these haters. It's like they are following a manual. Step 1: Bash Castiel. Step 2: Bash Destiel. Step 3: Act like Destiel shippers are crazy. Step 4: Say you are ONLY a Dean/Sam fan. Step 5: Claim you don't ship Wincest. Then proceed to troll, debate, bash others because you feel that now you have some kind of untouchable credibility because "gasp! you claim to not be a wincest shipper yet act exactly like one!" :D

Lisa Well I'm not a Wincest shipper I'm not a shipper at all. I watch the story for what it is and that is about Sam and Dean as brothers, as hunters as heroes, but more importantly as Brothers! Any t.v. show and my mind will never and has never gone to making characters sexual partners just because I want them to be. But I personally find that any article that mentions Dean and Castiel suddenly becomes about Dean/Cas being together and if you can't stand that storyline, your a hater and therefore your point is invalid. I have disliked Castiel from 401 and why wouldn't I, he was a prick. But he's never been the story and never will be the story for me. But every article is hijacked by Destiel shippers about people hating on him. I prefer other side characters.

"Dean is not gay" Let's not say this as though the only thing that exists is GAY and STRAIGHT. There are people who are bisexual and there are those who are pansexual. With Castiel not even being human, and him not having a gender or sexual orientation, you can also argue all of this is moot because none of this would really matter. So Dean is NOT gay. Alright, that can fly (though one could argue he could just be in denial or in the closet) but don't pretend that by default that makes him straight. Dean can still like women, can still have sex with women and that only means he may be: straight, bisexual, pansexual, other.* The show has never dug deep enough into Dean's sexual history to say definitively what his sexual orientation is. / END OF PSA

The possibility of a manly man liking men! The things we learn everyday... Also, if Destiel doesn't exist, why do you waste so many time talking about it? You bring it up in all single article. Let me tell you something, it sounds like you're getting scared of it. And yes, I'm a Destiel shipper. A proud one. I don't see why I should be ashamed of wanting two people who clearly love each other and have an amazing and well developed relationship to be together. Because they're both men? What year is it? Well, that's fine, it's ok to not like certain character, not everyone has the same taste. Another thing is to actively go hating on him. I'm not accusing you, but there are people who send hateful tweets to the actor and try to get him fired, and similar hateful things that I can't wrap my mind around.
There'll always be someone you don't like, just as there'll be people who'll love that character. My experience is that Castiel is loved or at least people are pretty neutral towards him. The only time I see this kind of hate is in comments of articles that mention Dean and Cas in a separate story, so it's not that surprising for me to be wary and think they're Wincest shippers (b/c Destiel always somehow comes into the conversation)

Ilovehowyouletmefall, well you can but please don't fool yourself that your shipping Dean Winchester the character on Supernatural. Because Dean isn't gay, he isn't all about Castiel at all, ever and loves to be co-dependent with his brother because that is who they are and that is their lives and that is what has kept them sane and alive. But DW the character that the writers have created is not gay. So ship away but know its not any part of Supernatural the t.v. show.

Yes, I love Cas. Yes, I love Misha. No, that doesn't mean I am crazy. No that doesn't mean I hate Sam. No, that doesn't mean I want Supernatural to be about Dean/Cas. People, stop stereotyping and assuming you know everything about a person just because they like a certain aspect of the show! I like Cas! I like Misha! That doesn't given you the right to pigeonhole me or make me feel like my opinions don't matter. I tune into Supernatural like everyone else. I buy the dvd boxsets. I attend conventions. I think it is you who need to watch the show and without your Destiel googles on. His comments have nothing to do do with Dean and what Dean thinks and feels. Castiel does things because HE wants to and not because of Dean. He likes to blame Dean for sure but if you think he didn't manipulate him, hurt him, nearly kill him and his brother and lie to him, you need to go really watch the series. And also everything that has been said and done in SPN is because of Sam and Dean and about Sam and Dean. j/s
It amuses me the profound bond comment was just Castiel and nothing to do with Dean saying anything and destiel fans forget that he called Castiel to tell him that he should of come when SAM called. I'm waiting on tenterhooks for this episode. It sounds exciting! I'm hoping that being presented with a choice like that will prompt Sam to tell Amelia about hunting, so she'll be more flexible - I've been hoping for a long-term love interest for one of the boys since I started watching the show in season 1, and this is the most interested I've been in Sam since season 4, so I really hope Amelia sticks around. And I adore the angels so I'm glad for some angel-heavy plot and to see Cas deeply involved.
@Ridge - So people can't both adore a character AND ship? uh huh...

I used to ship Wincest but got tired of it because all I would see was bashing of Cas and Destiel. Like, I'm not the biggest Cas fan but jeez Misha is cool as heck. I've met him several times. I like Castiel this season. I'm tired of people constantly antagonizing Cas. Everyone on the show has made mistakes. Even this season people are always finding excuses to bitch about Dean and Sam. Yet we still love them, right? But with Cas it's like a double standard. I don't know why. I don't know if it's because of what people are saying. If it's jealousy or being threatened. I truly wish I knew, but it's exhausting. I mean, you don't like Cas. I get it. But why are you here, obsessing over an article that talks about Cas? go do something positive with your time. You coming here and just bashing Cas over and over doesn't make you seem like a sensible person. It makes you seem shady like you are hating on him for all the wrong reasons. Shipping in this fandom brings out the worst in people.

I'm disappointed at how superior so called "Dean and Sam" fans feel. You look down on others just because they like supporting characters or ship a certain way. You come to articles like this and just hate, hate, hate, hate. Honestly, it's pretty disappointing that you all feel you represent the Supernatural fandom because you ONLY love the brothers yet you show your support by acting like a$$holes to other people in this fandom. You all get worse with every season. I'm not even sure why you're still watching the show. It seems the ony thing that will make you happy is to have Dean and Sam together, in bed, having sex, and professing their undying love for each other. Anyone who messes with that end game gets trashed. Ugh. :(

Well Lisa, I rarely comment on any article but when I read I always find the opposite, I always find the so called Destiel fans ready and raring to go with the Dean and Castiel comments. Like Sam goes off Castiel will step into his shoes lol.
And they always call out people that don't like Castiel, Wincest fans. I don't and never will think Sam and/or Dean are gay, don't care about Castiel but I also don't think SPN has anything to do with Castiel so I suppose there is that. I find Benny amazing, I don't mind Amelia, I didn't mind Lisa and/or Garth and any other side character. So as a Castiel hater I like side characters and always have.

I didn't like all nine episodes, but generally the season looks pretty good. Amelia story line is a bit lackluster (6/10), although I love different take on Sam. Dean/Benny/Cas story in purgatory was very cool (8/10), I hate to see it go, I'm hoping for more flashbacks. I want Dean to have a storyline that involves him directly in the mytharc for once, he's always the one stuck only caring for others - please Carver, do something about it. Benny is a success, Castiel is very tragic this year, but redeemable. Also, I'm very interested in Naomi, I like the actress, that storyline is 8/10, too. Closing the gates of hell - I haven't seen enough to grade it yet, it's still in the process of setting things up, so 7/10.

The most annoying thing about the whole debate is that almost EVERYONE involved is presenting their opinion as a universal truth. "I don't like Castiel/Misha" is NOT the same as "no one likes Castiel/Misha". Obviously, "I love Cas" is not the same as "Cas is the best thing about Supernatural and everybody has to love him because anything else means they do not understand the show at all". Yes, there's something like a personal opinion... no one has to love every single character and be happy about whatever storylines the show comes up with. What is annoying is people's apparent desire to make everyone see things the way they do. Life doesn't work that way.
