Sire bond to Damon, fine. Stefan and Elena meant to be in the end, fine. I love the show, BUT SPLICING STEFAN AND CAROLINE TALKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BEST DAMON AND ELENA SCENE EVER was just plain poor taste. Could've at least let them have their moment, THEN show Caroline's revelation, then one last flash of them in bed with the ominous music.

This is going to sound strange considering that Damon and Elena are made up characters, but I almost feel like the writers don't even know their own characters in this case. Someone mentioned above that we should not lose hope and that Elena definitely loves Damon. But, these are fictional characters and the writers can have Elena feel/do anything they choose and just make up some new condition or supernatural reasoning to explain it. Again, COP OUT. Based on everything I know about two characters that I have been following for three seasons, I would absolutely believe that Elena has very deeply rooted feelings for Damon, vampire or NOT. However, the writers seem to be nullifying everything I know about this scenario. I do not think this is good writing or "twisty" writing. I think that they absolutely contradicted everything we have learned about the relationship between these characters in one moment. It makes me feel like the validity of the show is kind of void. I have been rewatch

The very moment Damon figured out Tyler was sired to Klaus he mentions it happens with Vampires as well ,but how rare it can be.
@those confused: Caroline can't be sired to Kathrine because HER BLOOD didn't turned her into a Vampire ,your boy toy Damon's did and the only hand Katherine had in her turning was when she killed her I.e. smothered.
This just goes to show that some people are here for shipping purposes alone and really have no interest in the lore of TVD,whats worse is that some of you only ship Delena because the Actors who play them are together in real life. I chuckle to myself every time you mention how much "chemistry" Damon and Elena have,I bet they do ,they're a couple off set and you know it. Its a real riot.

I don't think she is sired to him. And if she is, despite what everyone else might think, Damon doesn't even know it. Did you see how shocked he was or did anyone else notice his heart seemed to skip a beat when she told him the reason they broke up was him? He wasn't expecting that. He'll come to believe it is a sire bond based on the spoilers for next weeks episode where the synopsis is that Damon is forced to make a heart breaking decision. Stephen will have him convinced that Elena wouldn't choose him either wise and Damon is so used to have his heart broken and being pulled around by his feelings for Elena. He wouldn't purposely play her like that, next week episode will show that when his heart breaking decision is attempting to break the bond after being convinced that there is one. Every one who has been rambling on about Damon being the bad guy and using Elena and purposely forcing her to have feelings for him can take a stick and shove it. I feel bad for Damon, he has waited

This review was perfectly written. I am so disappointed in the writing of this show right now. I feel like they completely contradicted their own writing for 3 seasons. I am not interested in arguing over Delena/Stelena. People are entitled to their opinions. But, no matter how you slice it, they have been building a REAL connection between Damon and Elena since day 1. It may not be everyones favorite choice, but it was based on something real. They had passion between them long before Elena was a vampire. Its like now that she is a vampire, it is the ONLY reason she wants Damon. COP OUT INDEED. I don't know why they can't have her just finally choose Damon, even if it will not stick. It is poor writing and I am seriously feeling like I don't understand where they have been taking this for 3 seasons. I feel like all the build up that was between them actually meant nothing. I will still watch it, but I almost didn't want to after last night. It is seriously confusing to me as a viewer.

I agree with what you said about Klaus, he should have definitely died last season. Most lame evil character ever. Just because a character is good, doesn't mean you just forcibly involve him in the story...For eg -: Look at Breaking Bad, just because Gus was fantastic, didn't mean you changed the end game suddenly. But this is me being stupid comparing VD, with Breaking Bad.
Btw it's ridiculous that Caroline calls Damon evil, when she falling for Klaus - 'the most evil guy', and her friend Stefan was popularly known as the Ripper.

i don't see elena being sired to damon as being a bad thing. i think elena being sired to damon is an incredibly good thing. it means that there connection is far stronger than the connection that elena had with stefan. it means that elena & damon have a deep rooted bond that will make them unstoppable as a couple. there's nothing that will interfere with their relationship or break that bond. i think the writers wanted to show that the relationship that elena & damon share is a very powerful longlasting relationship. i'm happy about it. elena's sired to damon. she's not gonna be crawling back to stefan. elena belongs to damon now. it's about time. how long has damon loved elena??? how long has he stood by?? stefan is a jealous selfish bastard. & caroline has issues with it... because i think she's developing feelings for klaus & won't admit it to herself. so she's taking it out on elena. it's time for elena & damon to shine. i hope the fans will continue to be fans

I couldn't believe it when Damon and Elena had sex. It's about time. Now that she is sired to him they have an incredibly strong bond that hopefully won't be broken once she becomes released from him. I love these two together. They are beyond hot. I wish they'd danced together at the ball again. My favorite couple of all time finally had their moment, and it was incredible.

Has anyone noticed that Jeremys SL has taken place of Alarics! It's nothing new! Alaric had things he couldn't remember and he had to be watched too! Lol klaus has become the most useless evil villian of all time. I think he should become human just so he could eventually die and we can move on with his lame character. Then we event a sire bond between vampires! Then why isn't Caroline sired to Damon? And it's only because they don't want to make Elena look bad with having sex with Damon. I mainly hated the way DE scene was interrupted by Stephen&Caroline's conversation. I am able to deal with the sirebond, as I said earlier it doesn't have to be bad after all. Even now I am less angry about it than I was right after watching.
But the Damon&Elena first sex scene was something I've waited for 3 seasons and now it is definitely ruined, for ever.

Damon and Elena ruins that so if I have to choose Stefan and Damon or Elena and Damon I choose brothers over lovers. couldn't have said it any better tbh. they are forcing this bs because they are scared for what reason I DO NOT EVEN KNOW! stefan and elena been apart since season 1 tbh, when my beloved katerina arrived! never recovered EVER! the show needs to focus more on the silas story adn 5 hunters because im loosing interest in the show again! its obvious time and time again plec has a good concept and then ruins it *sigh* best episode was season 1 finale and i'll forever keep screaming this!

If any of you had ever actually bothered to read the books you would know that this is what the writer intended all along. I love Damon but Elena and Stefan belong together. Everything will work out the way it's supposed to and everyone needs to calm down. Let's not forget that it's just a tv show people...real life is almost never this much fun.

This sire thing is succesfully ruining the main triangle for me. Now, I'll tune in for Jeremy and Klaroline. Heck, I even like Matt more than SE/DE storylines.
I was hardcore DE, and as many fans, I've waited for the sex scene since ep 1. And they ruined it. Completely. I don't even care who she'll end up with, bc the writers did such a lousy job on finally bringing DE. She can choose Stefan no for all I care. This is too much screwing with our heads. Even SE fans hate this twist, which should say something, right?
Damon: She's strong and crafty and you'll die. Elena: At least I'll die trying.
