NBC to Place Revolution on Four-Month Hiatus

by at . Comments

NBC is placing its freshman hit Revolution on four-month hiatus after its midseason finale Monday, November 26. It's a risky move, in no uncertain terms, but one the Peacock thinks will pay off.

"We're aware of how rare the miracles of these hits can happen," NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke tells TV Guide. "We wanted to put it in the most protected time slot possible."

"We believe people will wait for it, and we want to make sure we give Revolution every chance possible to be the hit that we think it can be."

That means after two more episodes, Revolution won't be back until March 25. That will allow NBC to air originals, uninterrupted, into the summer, while keeping the show directly after The Voice.

Season 4 of the hit singing competition kicks off that very same night.

Revolution is an ok show, could be better but going on a 4 month hiatus was a bad idea. I've lost interest in the show. NBC what were you thinking? Stick to your "reality" shows and you"ll find yourself at the bottom, behind telemundo, oh wait...

I like revolution, but relying on some lame talent show to prop it up kinda makes me not want to watch it anymore, like I'm legitimizing lame talent shows or something.

When the BBC does this it is planned well in advance and well publisized. When NBC does it it is a sure sign to stop investing yourself in something that is going to die. I should have learned by now not to invest myself in a new NBC show until it has cleared it's first season. Thanks for nothing NBC!

4 months with no Billy Burke??!! Shame on you NBC.

Part III before part II that's before part I These characters are supposed to be in the fight of their lives, living in a terrifying world, surrounded by really bad people (Monroe & company) and yet we have these moral, politically correct idiots letting people, that want to kill them, live after every confrontation is ABSURD! Kill off some, bring in new characters but don't keep cycling trough the same old shit. Bad guy gets the upper hand, good guy gets the upper hand and lets the bad guy live so the bad guy can get the upper hand again so that the good guys can ... I'm also tired of the find Danny plot line as well. STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! For the record, I like Charlie :)

Part II appears before Part I because lame website doesn't let us know when we've exceeded our writing limit.
No! I would take them both out without blinking an eye. To make matters even worse, just before he locks them in this fragile closet with a weak wooden door Miles says "Okay Tom, in you go." Tom says "I'm going to kill you one day for this. You know that right?" Seriously? Are you fucking kidding me? Again, if it was me and that lunatic just said that to me, do you think I would have any mercy for that psychopath? This why I LOVED 24. No one (except Kiefer / Jack) was safe on that show. You could be a principle and get knocked off at any time. This show gets more ridiculous each week, at the very least Miles should have gagged them and handcuffed them. I officially watch the show now to enjoy STUPID WRITING. Really folks, the show appeals to the lowest common denominator (in terms of intelligence) of our society. The show started out sort of okay, but now it's just a joke; it is laughable. I keep watching, just to see what absurd story line / twist tops the list each week. This week's absurdity is when Miles has Julia captive with the sword in Tom's house. Tom comes in and pours a drink. Miles and Tom banter around a little, Tom retrieves the two friends. Now, folks, I don't know about you, but we have a really bad (Mr. Psychopath) guy (Tom) standing there. He doesn't think anything about killing or hurting anyone; in fact he likes it! So, the question is why? Why does Miles let both of them live? I mean if it was me? Considering the circumstances and the shit I've gone through the last few weeks to get to Philadelphia to rescue Danny and what Tom has done to Danny, do you think I would let them live? And for the record. I like Charlie :)

Sounds very much like the UK model of TV. Series instead of Seasons. It's an interesting model but one that will take a lot of reprogramming on the viewers end to get used to.

In a nutshell, NBC is saying "We give this show about as much of a chance as we did Chuck, and we'll just let the cards fall where they may."

Bad idea. That only works with a really good show like Lost. If they're doing it because they plan to re-write some of their episodes and replace some characters, then that's a different story. I'd be on board with that.

80 million dollars in the bank and I would trade it all, right now, for a roll of Charmin.

Tom: To tell you the truth, when General Monroe finds out, he's gonna be irate and he might even have my head.
Danny: Let's hope.
