Grey's Anatomy Review: All In

by at . Comments

Over the years, Grey’s Anatomy has featured several medical cases that have made you laugh, cry or look away because it’s too gory. And also some that you can’t even believe could be real. Some have been big (the bomb), others have been small. Many have made an impact.

The case on "I Was Made for Lovin' You” was one of those instances. Let’s discuss the handful of bombshells that got dropped on us...

A Week’s Better Than Nothing. Bailey/Cristina’s patient in need of a liver transplant and valve surgery was heartbreaking. Although he was not the center of the episode, he taught quite the lesson. Things happen for a reason. People are brought into your life because of specific actions.

You figure out what you want and you enjoy it. Even if it’s only for a week. I was definitely with Weepy Dr. Ross at the news of the failed liver transplant.

Back To Work! Arizona returned for her first day of work and it was a huge success. Girlfriend made it through a long surgery and did it with no problems. Until she fell. I kept waiting for something to happen to her. I did not expect it would be laughter. She hilariously replied, “I have no left foot!” Looks like Dr. Robbins is back!

Did I Change? Cristina has a heart! Her time spent with Dr. Thomas definitely changed her. She is still Yang to the core, just a little softer. She is interested in teaching and what people are feeling. Thomas made a huge impact on her and she hasn’t even realized it yet. One thing she did realize? She wants Owen back.

Is this a good idea? No. As enjoyable as these two characters have been together in the past, they still want completely different things. Owen wants children, she doesn’t. She wants him back, he wants a divorce. Not to mention the lawsuit mess. What’s next for these two?

Results Are In. After realizing she is four days late, Kepner drops the news on Jackson that she thinks she is pregnant. How cute was Avery when he promised to be all in? He gave her everything she wanted: the possibility of marriage, children and a life together. Way to ruin it, April! After finding out she was not pregnant, she told Jackson they dodged a bullet.

These two look to be over...at least for now. Too bad, they were just starting to get adorable. And seriously, who would pass up on getting to wake up to those eyes every morning? Not me!

Sandra Oh as Cristina Yang Pic

Best Big Sister! For the biggest news of the night, Meredith and Derek are pregnant!! Dark and twisty no more. Mer is only three weeks along but is super excited. Shonda, I am warning you now: Don’t do anything to ruin it for these two. They can not handle another miscarriage or something devastating with this pregnancy. They deserve this.

Kudos to Mer for growing up a bit. She shared the news with her husband over Cristina. Looks like Derek is officially becoming her person.

Side Notes

  • Bailey and Ben are having a Christmas wedding! Not only was she hilarious making fun of it, but we have something to look forward to before the holiday break!
  • How fun is it seeing Mer and Cristina back in the halls together?
  • Callie is working with Derek on a plan for his hand. Will they be able to come up with something that will actually work or is Derek done for good?
  • How cute is the friendship between Bailey and Webber?

Overall, an enjoyable episode. Not the best of the season, but entertaining for sure. What did you think, TV Fanatics? Did you like “I Was Made For Lovin’ You?” Hit up the comments and let us know.

I really don't think it's right for them to mock Christians through April's character; to me that's the very disappointing thing about GA. they have to tell the story fairly! If they don't condemn say gays or free sex, they shouldn't mock/ condemn Christians! They way anyone would look at April, she's so shallow and unfeeling, her faith is obviously only on the surface! They really, really shouldn't mock Christians, talk about rights, we have rights too! If someone mocked gays now, they'd get sued. But no, not for Christians, we're supposed to just sit back & let the general public think we're all idiots like April Kepner.

Cristina finally relized she needs Owen and wants him back, I feel it's late to Cristina!!
the CO story's too sad to me

While I agree that Owen is protecting Cristina's interests in the lawsuit, I think that he is equally protecting the other doctors that were on the plane. They are his friends and colleagues and he feels responsible. He's doing what he feels is right for all of them. It's the equivalent of his falling on his sword. Shonda said on twitter a while back that Crowen would be kissing (and a lot more) in an upcoming episode that has already been filmed. So it at least happens by episode 12 or 13. I think they're somewhere around there now.

Um...refresh my memory, did Owen say anything to Christina about divorcing her because of the case? Or will he? Because I'm sure she's going to ask why in some way, shape or form. Or it will come out in another way. I know he signed a confidentiality agreement, but him saying that he doesn't want there to appear to be a conflict of interest for being married to Christina isn't saying anything about the case. Not really, not the details. I think it would be interesting if they divorce legally but still have something going, or get back together. I love the happy Arizona. I also like how she and Alex seem to get along now after the awful things she said to him in the second episode.

McBaby number 2 is on the way, is the best news of the episode and I was certainly jumping for joy about it. Time for a baby boy everyone seems to have had girls recently.
I loved how Mer took April's idea of the tshirt except do it for Zola it was a lovely way to tell Derek and so happy he was told before Cristina, Mer is growing up.

April is an idiot for the way she's treating Jackson. If she doesn't want to be with him, fine...but the things she says to and around him, and then wonders why he walks out of the room or avoids her? Come *on*...even if someone doesn't have much experience in relationships, they should at *least* be able to figure out that people don't like being compared to disgusting mistakes or told about how they caused someone to go to Hell. As a Christian, I also want to tell her that Jesus will never hate her the way she thinks He will...He might not like some things we do but He could never hate us. I don't mean this to proselytize or anything, but apparently it's a big deal to her. But then, maybe I'm overthinking it!

Re-watched the episode. At first, I was mad at Owen. He wanted Cristina back, but then the divorce? Then, as I was watching the episode a second time, I realized he doesn't want the case thrown out. Since he can't say anything, he is divorcing her. Maybe I am reading too much in to it, but knowing Owen for who he is, it does not shock me that he wants to do the right thing by Cristina. He feels he owes her that much because of what happened in the past. Always trying to protect her, even if it means he has to say goodbye. Wow. I think my respect for Owen is slowly growing back after he cheated on Yang.

wait. did jackson ever said 'i love you' to april..? he just wanted to marry her, right? i don't know. i am not too convinced that jackson really wanted to marry her - i feel like jackson's reaction was spur of the moment and stemmed from sense of duty than truly wanting to marry april...

Meredith is pregnant! So happy! I did not see it coming until she told Derek to check out the new shirt for Zola.
I still can not stand April. I feel bad for Jackson, he really wanted to get married and have a baby and the tears in his eyes when she said she was not pregnant was heartbreaking! I hope he is done with her for good.
It was good seeing Arizona back BUT did I miss something? 2 weeks ago she was still angry at everyone and now she is all happy and giggles? It is great but seemed fast.
I felt bad for Christina, she went to tell Owen she wants him back only to be told he wants a divorce, eventhough he is doing it so he can keep his job and she can get all the money she deserves...or at least that is what I think.
