NCIS Promo: Meet Gibbs' Namesake
Leroy Jethro Gibbs has been one of TV's most popular figures for many years now.
Curious how Mark Harmon's character got that unusual name? Next week's episode of TV's top-rated drama, entitled "Namesake," will introduce us to the man for whom the NCIS Special Agent was named.
Ralph Waite reprises his role as Jackson Gibbs, our fearless leader's father, and Billy Dee Williams guest stars as the original Leroy Jethro. Jackson Gibbs and Leroy Jethro Moore, a WWII vet, go way back.
As always, his appearance ties into the weekly mystery. A petty officer is gunned down in a billionaire’s Ferrari and the investigation leads the team to discover a link to this intriguing new character.
