Hell on Wheels is by far the best show I've ever seen. Although the ending to season 2 left me quite distraught. I will most definitely be watching season 3. Summer of 2013 seems too far away.

Bring it back. What a great show. Why did Lilly get killed off?

I, too, was hoping for another season. I keep thinking about Lily and I think that it is all a dream of Cullen's. I think he will wake up and realize that he does truly love her. At least this is how I see it. It is a great show--- the acting and sets are so great. I just love it and I do hope it will return and I hope Lily is there.

In my opinion, Lily will still be with us in Season 3. Even allowing for artistic license, the entire sequence with Swede killing Lily was absurd. He was too weak and close to death from his own wounds to perform these horrific deeds. Lily was the only person who was kind to him and they were co-conspirators in exposing the Durants' fraud, so he had no reason to kill her. More likely, this was either a product of Swede's near-death delerium or Cullen's fabrication of her death for her own protection. If her contract was up or she wanted out, she should/could have been killed defending the railroad, the town or even Cullen. That would have been a more believeable and fitting death for the heroine that she was. I don't think we've seen the last of Lily.

Bravo to AMC for renewing HELL ON WHEELS! Great subject with a top-notch cast, set and crew who deserve better writing than they've gotten so far. It was often inconsistent and far-fetched and it cheapened the show. This is an adult audience and we don't need “shockers” to teach us how cruel life can be. We know. I understood from interviews that the goal of Season 2 was to develop the characters and their relationships. Why, so we could watch them kill themselves and each other? I'm glad there is a change at the helm and hope the new writers will give us some quality historical fiction that earns HOW some well-deserved Emmys.

I am still so p----off about Lilly that it is hard to understand why the writers would do it. Lilly and Cullen could have finished the railroad in another season or two, then moved to San Francisco (think of the opportunities for the writers to work on gold rushes, banking, etc.) for another long run of shows! This might have become another Dallas, etc. series with the strength of Lillies character. Too bad, if she is really gone, that this could not have been a long running series. I think that without Lilly, next season will probably be its last, if it even lasts a full season.
