I love Wade/Zoe too and will keep on watching until they bring back the George/Zoe crap. I don't dislike Porter I just HATE the way his character is written...he can do no WRONG and people believe this crap. Neither George or Zoe have ever admitted their inapproprate behavior (flirting/dating etc.,) but instead the show covered it up. Now he's out dating as if he did nothing WRONG...he looks ARRANT. I get the message (and I think so does others) Zoe and George are the main couple so they can do/ treat people as they please.

Until they actually start writing for GZ and actually show why they should be a couple with this amazing connection I'm writing them off. I would actually love it if they put GZ together to show us why we are supposed to support them as a couple. I just think that at this point the fanbases are already behind who they like. No one is really going to switch sides. This 3rd person is actually going to succeed in making both bases mad because they'll each see it as a slap in their face. But being on the ZW side I actually feel more secure than I would as a GZ fan because at least ZW are progressing. I don't care if it is a ratings ploy or not. They are getting a lot of time and I like the writing for them. They are also not throwing Wade under the bus. So that keeps me a happy fan of the show.

I don't think they will bring on a new love interest for Wade ... he would overshadow the ICONIC couple G/Z. I don't think they know what to do with him at this point, but, they know they can't get rid of him at the moment.

  4. tap76

I was trying to say that if Wade ever gets a viable love interest then they won't be able to tease the fans with ZW. So I also don't really see that happening.

And again nothing against Scott Porter because he seems like a sweet guy and I actually like George as a character. Just not with Zoe. I actually really like George with Lemon and think that dynamic works sort of like Zoe and Wade work.

  5. tap76

Again we are in complete agreement :) I don't see the need for the 3rd person other than to try to mash together the characters of Wade and George into one. I still don't think the character is going to be a permanent character on the show. He'll probably be around for most of the 2nd half of the season. There isn't room in the cast to support another male. Now they could use another female easily and I wouldn't mind seeing AB bumped up to a regular.

The new person isn't going to be any more acceptable for Zoe than George is. Actually less so. At least George is a known entity. :) It is just a plot device at this point because they can't do ZG because then they won't get the ratings. Ultimately they are either going to have to accept a ratings drop if they want GZ and ultimately the end of the show, or just accept that a majority of the fans want ZW. I won't get worried about anything really unless they bring a viable love interest on for Wade. If they do that then I t

    correction...and pointed out.

Tap 76 why add a third person...the show now needs a new plot. Because of the rating they can't use G/Z as they intented. Also it could be that Bethel is overshadowing Porter. They did described the third guy as sexy and charismatic (is this not Wade?) and so point off that he was a doctor.

And the drop in ratings after the first episode I think we are sort of in agreement. Certainly some ZW fans checked out and didn't watch the 2nd episode. And it probably had something to do with her not picking him. I also think that the way Wade's character was handled made it look like he was being thrown under the bus once again to prop up GZ affected people wanting to watch. So actually we are in agreement. The first episode did make it look like she was going to use Wade for now until the magical stars aligned aka George was acceptable enough for the fans to put GZ together. And clearly that is not acceptable to the ZW fans. I also expect a similar drop in ratings for the next episode because of this past one. I'm hoping not because the ratings were looking to be somewhat stable.

  9. tap76

I actually agree with you. I fully expected them to end ZW sometime around episode 6-10. And then shift to ZG in the second half of the season. As soon as I saw the ratings were touch and go I expected them to keep with ZW so as to not rock the boat. Now them bringing in a 3rd person makes it really seem like they are not risking ZG at least this season. I do expect ZW to break up in the 2nd half at some point but possibly get back together at the end like the first season and mostly for the ratings and a 3rd season. And if there is a 3rd season I do expect that at that point they have to do ZG. I just don't think that ZG together can drive the show. And I think that with the way things have gone so far that someone must have realized it. Now as to who ends up together for the very last show, I really don't care as long as I get an entertaining story now which most agree is ZW.

tap 76, the show knew it could count on Z/W to keep the RATINGS up and the RATINGS started off good but if you notice they drop 46% after the opening episode. G/Z team does not have that much supports. When Z failed to maked a decision (the opening) to a lot of people if felt like she was just wasting time with W until G become likable. I believe Z/G was going to end up together (season half) but of the drop in ratings the show had to resort to a third person (which is not going to work).

  11. tap76

My thing is if they wanted to give ZG even an ounce of a chance they needed to keep the ZW relationship strictly physical. They negated that in the first episode by having Zoe admit to feelings for Wade. Now we are 5 episodes in and it clearly looks like ZW are going forward in some sort of a relationship and feelings are going to develop. That is only going to make their larger fanbase hold on even more. They can make George as likeable as they want, that isn't going to make the ZW fans accept him with Zoe. They have also been very careful with Wade since episode 1. We haven't had a return of jerky Wade and he has actually matured. Again something those fans wanted. They aren't writing in anyway to make anyone accept ZG any more than last year. And then there is the fact that Wade has not had another viable love interest other than Zoe. I don't know if they'd chance bringing someone on in case WB had good chemistry with her.

  12. tap76

I don't know if it was so much her not choosing him. Most ZW fans actually expected her to choose George or no one. I honestly think it was the way Wade was portrayed in the first episode. All last year even when he was at his jerkiest we still had those moments of him giving Zoe a look or something. There was absolutely none of that in the first episode. Aside from this past episode and Zoe's sudden "in love" status with George that is one of my biggest WTF moments so far of this show.

I also don't know why they keep insisting on ZG. Most people like George just fine when he isn't with Zoe. Put him with Zoe and suddenly both George and Zoe become extremely stupid and unlikeable. And throwing other characters under the bus to prop them up only pisses the fans off more.

  13. SANDY

I also think Z not choosing W (opening episode) pissed alot of people off which caused the ratings to drop. For the life of me, I just don't understand the importants of Z/G as a couple. What are they going to add to the show?

  14. tap76

The thing is the ratings aren't going to change. If they switch to GZ again just like last year then the ratings will more than likely drop. As of now the show may not even get a 3rd season. It is still very much on the bubble. And yes bringing in yet another love interest still isn't going to improve things. That is only going to succeed in pissing off both the WZ and the GZ fans with the same result to the ratings. I do agree that right now they are clearly stringing both fan bases along because they need both for the ratings. And still they aren't writing for GZ. Frankly if GZ is the couple of this show then this is the sloppiest writing I've ever seen. Although I will agree that when the show started they were the intended couple with RB confirmed in an interview. LG confirmed that when they cast WB that Wade would play a larger role in Zoe's life. This show actually needs WB and he has become extremely popular with the fans.

  15. SANDY

Iam NOT impressed with Porter's performance...don't get me wrong Iam not saying he's a bad actor. Z/G are only apart because of those RATINGS. For now the show is simply entertaining the audience with episodes of W/Z until G becomes acceptable. Tap76, G is NOT a roadblock...G/Z will be the main couple of the show. Z was going to stringing W alone (like G did to L last season) AND at end she was going to choose G, but, the drop in the ratings messed things up. The show has now resorted to a third love interest for Z.

  16. tap76

GZ were still where they were at the beginning of the season and she is once again back with Wade.

  17. tap76

I couldn't agree more with the comments about GZ seeming forced and contrived. This episode just made it seem all the more blatant. Yes they are stringing out GZ. I think that it is being used as a ploy to use GZ as a roadblock to getting ZW together. I don't think the writers are really writing for GZ. They are writing for ZW though, but they can't have them get together too quickly. So they keep throwing out these random triangle episodes and try to remind everyone that she still has feelings for George because the majority would happily forget it. Ultimately though it is just annoying and irritating and bad storytelling. It certainly isn't believable and really does throw everything off balance. And it makes the characters involved look bad (Wade episode 1 & Zoe episode 5). We've had some really good episodes up until this one where all of the characters were likeable and had something going on. This episode in the end added nothing. GZ were still where they were at

I agree with you Sandy & I think that SADLY the writers are dragging the Zoe/George thing out so we will be more accepting. I am a Scott Porter fan (who didn't love Jason street?) But not a fan of George /Zoe. I kinda hoped he & Lemon would work out:(
Iam happy about Zoe/Wade but I really hoped shed date George sooner & have a chance to get over him & accept her feelings for Wade. It seems the opposite is happening. I think she will eventually break Wades heart in favor of George.

  19. yeah

I agree and I just love watching them (z/w) together. I just wish this was a different show under different writes.

Wade and Zoe had a great chemestry!! Sorry for George but looks forced. The relationship betwen wade and zoe looks natural and real

  21. Darlene

This crap of a love triangle is going to be the END of this show. The show needs to cast a new (long time) love interest for one of those guys instead of Zoe. I think both sides are getting sick/tried of her. At this point, I find her ANNOYING. Bilson is NOT the worlds greatest actress I am confused as to way she was casted as the center of show. Her charms is wearing off.

  22. yeah

    more wade and zoey please.

  23. Arte

@jojo me too! I want zoe and george together!

  24. sandy

Bethel/Bilson's chemistry is organic and unmatched. I love love watching them. I didn't care for the episode but I loved the way W made her laugh at the end. Cindylou -I too hate what the writers are doing to Z, but, I think alot has to do with getting you to accept the idea of Z/G. The more the writers try and help that character (G) they throw the other characters off balance. Last season was the prefect example. At this point it it what it is and if the writers would just accept this I think the show would be alot popluar then what it is.

  25. jojo

I might be theeee only one, but I have wanted Zoe and George together since the pilot! And they had amaaaaazing chemistry in this episode!
