Warehouse 13 kicked off Season 4 on Monday by presenting viewers with "A New Hope."

In this edition of the TV Fanatic Round Table, staff members Nick McHatton and Jim Garner, are joined by special guest Judy Manning from Your Entertainment Corner to break down the season opener. Pull up a virtual char and gather around…

What did you think of the team's race against time to save the warehouse and the world?
Judy: I loved how the writers made their quest a bit more complicated. I mean, if you were able to find the artifact to restore the warehouse in your backyard, how interesting would that have been? And with given a time limit of only 23 hours and then sending them across the globe to France and Italy... that made the intensity go up a few notches, didn’t it?

Jim: We haven't had many "beat the clock" episodes. It was good to see how each person stepped up. From Claudia telling them all to go to Pete taking a stabbing to get the last piece, it was a great race.

Nick: I loved it because it added a sense of urgency that's not always prevalent in the show. Time usually isn't something that is necessarily a precious commodity in the show.

Brother Adrian: is he good or bad? Or is it too early to say?
Judy: I think it’s a bit early, however, the feeling I get from Brother Adrian is that he isn’t bad, necessarily, but he may be an obstacle that the team finds... annoying. I’m very curious as to how he knows so much about the ‘evil’ that comes from using the astrolabe. What is this secret brotherhood and what is their purpose?

Jim: I don't think he is good or bad, he's worse - he is a fanatic! He doesn't care what is right or wrong, just the brotherhood mandate. I have a feeling we will see him again.

Nick: We're all fanatics here, Jim! To me Adrian is doing what he believes is right, but at what are the costs of those beliefs? Right now, it seems like Artie make the better decision because now the world is bearing the brunt of Sykes vendetta. In other words, it's too early.

Is Artie's great personal cost going to be Claudia, or is that just a red herring?
Judy: Hmm, that’s tricky. We know that Artie and Claudia have history – he did put her in a mental institution, if I’m recalling correctly from earlier seasons. I think their relationship now is more like a father-daughter and it’s natural for Artie’s ‘evil of his own making’ would be losing Claudia or having Claudia turn against him. But, knowing Warehouse 13 and its random red herrings, that strange dream/nightmare Artie had could just be Artie’s own fears manifesting in his dreams.

Jim: I think a big part of his personal cost is remembering the "other" time, watching Pete die, seeing Claudia so bitter. While I won't say Claudia is out of the woods, hopefully Pooh-bear can bring her around before it's to late.

Nick: I agree with you two. I don't think Claudia will ultimately be Artie's personal cost, but I do think she will have a part in the culmination of everything.

What was your favorite moment from the premiere?
Judy: There were a couple of moments, some funny, some poignant, but one that really stands out is when Artie is consoling Pete after he’s stabbed by Brother Adrian. With Pete gurgling blood and asking Artie about not remembering dying, it’s Artie’s tearful comment (“I will”) that really touched me.

Jim: I have to agree with Judy, Pete's dying question of "will I remember" being followed up by Artie's "No, but I will" was very powerful. On the flipside, finding out the story behind the football finally was totally awesome!

Nick: Since you guys covered my favorite emotional moment I'll list some of my favorite comedic ones: Pete's Tebow pose, Pete not being gay, but open minded, and Claudia and Artie making fun of one another's age.

Do you think the warehouse will be the same old warehouse or will it change?
Judy: I think the warehouse will/has changed since it was restored under duress circumstances. That dire warning from Brother Adrian is quite ominous. I think the warehouse will become more of a character this season than it has before. It may have ‘feelings’ now and will want attention whereas previously, before the miraculous restoration, it was a very large, cavernous warehouse.

Jim: As the events never really happened, I suspect that the warehouse won't change too much. But, given that it is effectively an artifact itself, I wouldn't bet against there being some quirks.

Nick: I believe something has happened to the Warehouse. Mrs. Frederick's streak of gray hair is proof that the explosion happened in one timeline, but will the Warehouse become something more than it is? Maybe. It does store almost all of the artifacts, so it's not far-fetched to believe that the warehouse itself could be an artifact and, therefore, behave like one.
