Rookie Blue Review: Holy Moly!

at . Comments

How can you go wrong when an episode of Rookie Blue begins with a well-sated looking Andy rolling over in bed and muttering "Holy Moly" to a smugly grinning Sam? I don't think I could have asked for a better way to start "Leap of Faith."

Then it got even better with Nick looking on as Oliver rocked out in the squad car. Even the witness in the back started singing along. Too bad that guy's day was about to get a whole lot worse.

Will Sam Have Nick's Back?

Nick was definitely taking his lumps as a rookie. He looked mortified at having the witness abducted right in front of him. Then when he finally got a break in the case, Jerry and team ran with it, leaving Nick behind looking like a lost little puppy.

The psychic was great - but not because of his ability to lead them to their witness. That was an interesting plot twist, though that's not what got my attention.

I loved his insights into everyone and their relationships. When he first told Andy that Sam wouldn't say I love you back I was a little mad. It just seemed hurtful but in the end it worked out. Andy realized it wasn't what mattered.

The look on Noelle's face when he told her she was having a girl was adorable. It was pure joy. I only hope she's calling her sister now. It sounds like this baby will be coming early.

Jerry surprised me with that proposal in two ways. First off, I didn't think he would be the one jumping in for marriage number two. Then he delivered a line I never thought I'd hear from Jerry in this Rookie Blue quote

You've just got to believe in the unbelievable. | permalink

So Jerry's more of a romantic than I thought. That said, I still believe the psychic. I don't think these two will make it to the altar.

I was disappointed to see Sue go. Bomb Squad Betty has grown on me this season and although I didn't think she and Dov were a long-term match I expected them to last longer than this.

After 10 days without seeing one another I suspect that she saw the writing on the wall, but then Dov helped her with her testimony and everything felt so normal. I could understand why Sue was upset. Despite Dov's obvious avoidance, the afternoon spent together had her feeling blindsided by the breakup.

I was impressed with Gail. Her tough love speech was given in quirky Gail fashion but she was truly trying to be a good friend to Dov. I hope that someday these two find their way back to one another.

Finally, Andy told Sam she loved him... and it didn't matter whether he said it back or not. She needed him to know and it was sweet and funny and McNally looked adorable when she told him.

And even though Sam didn't return the sentiment in words, he was positively glowing with love and happiness. So with that, my shipper heart is in its happy place. How about yours?

Ok I love this show I wish it was on for a full season!! Sam and Andy, i love them and I love that Andy told Sam she "loves him", he loves her too, I hope I could not stand it if their relationship did not progress! Writters of Rookie blues i wish we could see a little more off the job Sam, Andy and the rest of the gang! And question where is Sam always running of to after sex?? What does he have going on all the time, " you always have to go". Jerry I love him he is hot, but engaged I don't know the speech was good but I am not sure Tracy is really all in? So I read some where that andys hot ex fiancé is comming back to the show but when I want to see him again!

And McSwarek definitely didn’t disappoint this week. They started off steamy and ended with what we’ve been waiting for, “I love you. It was delivered in true Andy fashion, and although Sam didn’t say it back, the goofy smile said it all.....

Another great episode! Can I just say, I love Matty Gordon? The singing at the start of the show was so funny, especially when they panned out and showed the witness singing along with Oliver and Collins. Although, I really felt horrible for Oliver at the end of the episode when the psychic told him his wife was cheating on him. What’s wrong with that woman? Gail’s pep talk for Dov was classic. I loved her “carpe diem, “stitch in time speech. But, I have to say I’m sad that Dov and his bomb squad lover have called it quits. They really seemed to complement each other and it was sweet how he helped her practice for the trial. I really hope he’s not falling for the sister of the kid he shot a few weeks ago. Diaz is really stepping it up this season. We really don’t know much about him so it’ll be interesting to see what’s hidden in his past. Did anyone catch the comment about the coke? Perhaps a drug storyline on the way? Only time will tell…. McSwarek definitely didn’t disappoint this week. They started off steamy and ended with what we’ve been waiting for, “I love you. It was delivered in true Andy fashion, and although Sam didn’t say it back, the goofy smile said it all.....

Nice enough episode. I loved the development with the psychic giving them insight into their lives. I love nick. He's become one of my favorite characters and I find him the most interesting.

Good story about the psychic, I liked how hw was able to tell everyone secrets. Andi that Sam would not say it back to her.
Traci that she would not get married, Oliver that he needed to move back home and stop his wife seeing another man. Noelle that her baby would be a girl. An interesting way of updating where everyone would be towards the end of season. Sorry to see the end of Dov and Sue Good strong role for Noelle in this episode.

I adored this episode! Maybe cuz I like psychic themed episodes of TV shows? But the Sam/Andy stuff was very hot and ended very cute. I'm proud to be a shipper of their coupley-ness :) I agree with you about Dov and Sue; she grew on me this season and I'm disappointed that their relationship is over. I'm glad that Noelle got some more screen time this episode and she's having a girl (I was leaning towards that). Great review!!

Love the Rookie Blue review! I'm with you on the Holy Moly of Sam and Andy. I'm not big on the Traci and Jerry stuff lately. I kinda feel like it's forced because Jerry's treating her kinda badly and then she forgives him and everything's peachy again? It's... odd. I'm not sure what to think of them right now. Loved the psychic stuff. I'm not into it usually but I like that he was revealing stuff about everyone. Great plot idea from the writers. I loooooved the I love you's and really, I loved Noelle in this episode. She was adorably awesome.

My shipper heart is doing flip flops in my chest

Another great episode - and yeah, Sam does love her, even if he hasn't voiced it yet.

Sarah silva

You can tell that Sam loves Andy, the smile on his face when she said it. I do think one day he will say it back.
I feel bad for Sue, I really liked her. I think Dov will realize to late that she was good for him.
I also felt bad for Nick but it was great when he was able to identify the guy and you can tell he felt super bad about what happened when he tried shooting the SUV and Andy had to pull him back, Nick seems to have no fear and that is a good and bad thing!
Looking forward to next week.
