Should There Be a Gossip Girl Movie?

by at . Comments

The upcoming sixth season of Gossip Girl, set to premiere in October, will be its last.

Sad as this fact is, as the show's stars gear up to say sayonara to the Upper East Side on the CW, could some of them be persuaded to reunite for a Gossip Girl movie down the line, a la Sex and the City?

"It's funny because I just got that question recently," Chace Crawford told E! News.

Nathaniel in L.A.

"It had never even crossed my mind so it was like, that's weird ... I don't know if I want that, or do not want that. I don't know what the logistics would be on that. I would imagine it's a long shot. Who knows?"

If it's up to him, Gossip Girl Season 6 will end with a bang. In a manner of speaking.

"Like the end of Die Hard," he joked. "Just walking away from an exploding helicopter."

Crawford, who can be seen in What to Expect When You're Expecting, is also set to star alongside Pierce Brosnan as a South African accused of murder in director Bruce Beresford's The House Gun.

What do you think of the idea of a Gossip Girl movie? Would you like to see it? What would the plot be? Would it involve all of the original cast members? Share your thoughts with us below!

A movie? And written by Safran maybe? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

It's an interesting idea to play with, but it's better to "bury" (great and exciting ?) season 6 with a good ending than to prolong the story further later. Of course there's great example of a TV show made into two entertaining films - Sex and the City -, but there's always a risk ruining the show for good...

Are you OK @ Morgana, because of the earthquake that was near Sofia? It felt it here too, very much!

I am sorry but the all season 5 just proved that they have no idea of what to do anymore with their characters they made dair who was a disgusting joke, they went TOO far.I don't expect anything for season 6 so A movie? if it's well written why not? And as long as safran don't write it. This guy ruined the show, ruined the characters he ruined everything.

YESSSSSS!!!! Please please please do a movie! and a sequel! and perhaps a reunion series after that...

Well, I've never thought about it either, but it seems interesting. As @Zoran said, though, I think that it's too premature to think about a movie now. Before that, I would like to see how season 6 will be carried out. I also think that they should wait a couple of years before making it, so that the actors can play other roles and explore their careers outside GG.
Besides that, I really would like to see the gang back together and how they changed during a certain period.

Good heavens No! Just no!

just have more episodes like a full season and leave it at that. but if not then yes i movie should end it off with a bang!
