Grey's Anatomy Review: Looking Grim

at . Comments

Did that just really happen?

Okay, let’s back up a few minutes and discuss “Migration” - and not just the crazy ending we just witnessed.

Webber Works It. I have always been a big fan of Richard. He’s had such a presence throughout this series, almost like a father figure to all of these doctors, not just Meredith. This hour had Webber helping Alex get everything he wants. And what he wants is Johns Hopkins. It’s pretty great to see the underdog, or evil spawn as Cristina says, come out on top. He has worked hard for it and deserves it.

Seattle Grace is looking like it might be less crowded next year...

Callie and Teddy

Can You Go Back? Cristina was weighing her decision and taking into account all of her options. Mer wants her BFF close to her but Yang is set on leaving. After an old school on call room hook up with Owen, Cristina makes the decision to head to the Mayo Clinic. Looks like these two are officially done.

You Should Make The Decision With Your Husband. Meredith wants Seattle, Derek wants Harvard. Grey finally consulted with her husband instead of her "person,: and the two are heading off to Boston. Derek will become the head of Neuro at Harvard.

Starting Over. Who knew crossword puzzles could be so much fun? Ben decided to pop the question to Bossy Bailey before getting the news of a job offer 1,000 miles away. It took so long for Bailey to get her groove back, she can’t lose the adorable Ben. I won’t have it!

Besides, who do these docs think they all are leaving Seattle? Not cool!

Lonely. The only doc not heading somewhere for a better job is poor Kepner. Girl failed her boards, got her job offers pulled and even lost her current gig at SGH. How awkward was the firing between her and Owen?

April headed over to the bar to drink her sorrows away and freak out on Jackson before running out. Are we losing April, too?

Is Slexie Coming Back? After dropping the L-bomb on Mark last episode, Lexie used her few minutes of screen time to act awkward. Mark is torn between Julia, who can give him everything he wants, or Lexie who he loves.

Who should he choose? If I was making the call, Lexie would be the winner. You hear that, Shonda?

Life in Peds

OMFG. When I glanced at the clock, I couldn’t believe the episode was just about over. I thought to myself: pretty solid. It advanced the plot for the finale. Nothing too surprising. Yeah, I was totally wrong.

In true Grey’s Anatomy fashion, the writers decided to shake everything up and keep us impatiently waiting until next week’s season finale. Most of the main characters boarded a small plane to head to Boise for a conjoined twin operation. Who would have thought that you would blink and the plane would be crashed? Definitely not me!

People can say that GA has fallen off over the past few seasons. But if there is one thing this show does right, it is finales. They kill it every time - pun intended! (Sorry, I had to.)

So what is going to happen to our favorite doctors? Will they all survive? Will the latest Grey’s Anatomy news be any indication?

After Thoughts:

  • Callie and Arizona’s scenes were short and sweet. Maybe if some of our docs leave, these two will finally get some more screen time.
  • We finally got a glimpse of the Mer and Der dream house!
  • How hilarious was Cristian pretending to be April on the phone? The voice was perfect.
  • Who would have thought that Ben proposing to Bailey would not be the biggest news to come out of this hour?

Let’s discuss it. Will Mark and Lexie get back together? Are all of the doctors really going to leave Seattle? Are Yang and Hunt done? This is all under the assumption they survive the plane crash!

One week until the season finale. Make your predictions now and hit up the comments to let us know what you thought of “Migration.” Can you wait until next week? I know I can’t! I personally think it will be Adele.

I know this is not the main relevant plot point on Greys, but I love Jackson and April together. Its been a while where Greys featured a good (fresh) love story, where a (gorgeous) guy is falling for an unknowing girl (not a couple getting back together...because the past few seasons have consisted of EVERYONE getting back together). I've been waiting for something like this for a while. Its fresh, its new. And I am really hoping they do it slowly, thoroughly and correctly. And I, for one (and maybe the only one), am really hoping April doesn't die and I doubt she will, seeing as the last few episodes with Jackson would have been useless and having her be the one that failed the boards also useless because that kills that drama. My prediction is Arizona.

Post #3 of 3... Not sure about Teddy...she's never come to grips about losing her husband, and she never processed the fact that she was madly, achingly in love with Owen when he married Yang. Now that both Yang and her husband are gone, she may just be the one who comes unhinged.

...the first post got cut off....continued here: Arizona will live, but she may be out of commission for a while (Coma? Post Traumatic Stress? Transfer to another hospital?) Alex will be torn, but he'll stay on (with his comparable salary) to manage Pedes while Arizona recuperates. Johns Hopkins will keep his offer open because he's worth it. Weber will become Chief again, because he no longer has his marriage to consider.

Owen has been becoming more and more distraught since Yang left him. He blames himself for the affair. You see him erasing each name from the a zombie. He got his hopes up when Yang made love to him, then she coldly said she was leaving. His stress level is off the charts. When he finds out about the crash, it will send him over the edge...he'll begin to have his Gulf War flashbacks again. He'll try to hide it at first, then he'll crack and take his own life. While this is going on, Lexie will be in critical condition, which will bring Mark (who professes his love) and Mer back to SGH. We won't know if Derek is alive until next season. Yang will go into major grief mode when she realizes Owen was the only man who truly loved her; this will make her feel more empathy towards others. She'll want to be back in Seattle to grieve and to comfort Mer, who is dealing with her sister's touch-and-go condition and the uncertainty about Derek. Arizona will live, but she may be out of commission for a while (coma? transfer to another hospital? Post Traumatic Stress?). Alex will be torn, but he'll remain at SGH with his comparable salary and run Pedes until Arizona returns. Johns Hopkins will leave their offer open for discussion at a later time. Weber will become Chief again since he no longer has to be home to make his marriage work. Bailey will realize she loves Ben, and they'll continue to see each other long-distance.

I think it's going to be Callie that dies because Arizona says to her " never leave me" and being that Arizona has had multiple people die I think it's Callie

Ok here is my theory... I love Arizona and I hope I'm wrong.
But I think Arizona dies and Alex takes her Job. I'm like a cat on a hot tin roof now!!!! I need to know what happens!!!!!!

OmgOmgOmgOmg. As long as its not Meredith, Derek, Cristina, or Alex that dies i'll be okay with it i suppose.

This is what will happen: Callie will die because she is a broadway singer and wants to do more of that so wants off the show.

All I kept thinking was WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? When I saw them all on the plane, it was eerie! But I never expected a plane crash-personally I thought it was a little reaching, because really-how many people actually survive PLANE CRASHES!!!??? Now that I see we have contracts signed and more episodes to come next year, my biggest fear since Friday has subsided. I thought I was losing my favorite show! Plane crash with all the main characters-seemed very doomsday to me. Ok-done venting now :) Can't wait till Thursday

Hopkins is the dream.

It's really not cool to mess with someone's head like this.
