Cougar Town

Cougar Town rejoined our airwaves again, after yet another hiatus last night.

At this rate the show will end up getting pushed into next season, but "You Can Still Change Your Mind" continued this season’s impressive winning streak by pushing our favorite characters further along.

Jules is worried about Travis, Bobby needs to decide what he wants out of life, and Ellie hits straight to the core one too many times.

I always admire how crazy Jules can be at her parenting, it’s completely crazy and over the top, and sometimes borders on psychotic (she wanted Travis to be a scientist and use stem cells to keep her alive forever).

But, even with her heightened-for-comedy personality, there are so many times I look at the things she does, and I would not be surprised in the least if my mother did something similar (Sorry Mom!).

Except for the trash sink, we’d go straight to the garbage can like civilized people.

Bobby and Angie have been surprisingly fun together, but I’m glad things have run their course. There’s only so many ways Bobby and Angie can get into each other’s pants each week before that joke gets old.

Plus, it was great to see Bobby acknowledge his cheating past when he and Jules were on the beach. He finally got to see what it was like from Jules’ perspective, and, while he’s definitely not that guy anymore, until now he hasn’t wanted a relationship just plenty of women lined up.

It’s nice to see Bobby Cobb is growing up.

Finally, Ellie and Laurie. What is there to say, really? We finally learned the origins of Jellybean tonight, and Laurie has never heard of Simon. I find that somewhat hard to believe since I’ve heard of Simon and I’m pretty sure Laurie is older than I am, but I don’t really care since I like Simon’s new name much better: smoke detector from a disco.
