. Now i`m really mad about how they push the two fanbases with different spoilers against each other. I think for the quotes it will be very bad if they don`t give Damon and Elena a chance. You can read it on different fan-sides. The Delena fanbase is still very upset after Elena pushing away in "Dangerous Liaisons". You don`t care. You definitely should care because this means the quotes will go down. It´s no secret that maybe 75% fans outside are clamoring for DELENA. Destroy them, and i promise the show will go down. You can maybe be upset that most people care about them. But it`s a fact none of us can deny. I see it also on this side. Only 60 entries now instead of 150 after a new episode. That says everything. People lose hope and don`t want to be cook on a low heat any longer.

I really miss the slow and strong storytelling of the second season. It was awesome. Now, everything changes so fast and there are so many unfinished things around. The good thing of season 2 was that all characters act mostly together as a team. Now we have development on high speed but we see much good character just for a few episodes. And we have some lost threads around like Katherine. This much underused character which just blows up to be a plot filler was last season on of the villains. But don`t get me wrong. I`m still a fan. I just don`t want to lose my favorite tv show.

    It's the best, love it.

it’s not a Brazilian soap opera where everyone sleeps with everyone and in the evening they all have a supper together !
Sadly thats EXACTLY what the show has become.

    Éhm,, Damon, shirtless ANYBODY?!

    HotHotHot! :D

My main problem is that it has been how many episodes since half the season have past and still I have no idea where are we going...where is s3 taking us? And the show seriously has to stop relying on throwing in scenes with shirtless Damon to boost up ratings I suppose..Maybe for 13 year-old girls its enough, but honestly I tired of seeing Damon as either Elena's doormat or a gigolo...especially after his epic sponsor speech to Stefan last week.

Why oh why people want Elena to be like Katherine?
Why do so many of you like to watch history repeat itself ? Elena be Stefan than with Damon and maybe again with Stefan and again with Damon
so at the end she can choose to be alone or with Matt !
From season 1 it was said that it is Stefan diary not Damon-Stefan it telling his story!
So I don’t see how he would tell story of how his brother fall in love with the same girl that he loves
And how they lived happily ever after !
Also all the haters that don’t like Bonnie, Abby, Caroline etc ….. why are you watching the show ?
Why do you pair people to be a couple ? Caroline –Taylor –Klaus
    Bonnie –Jeremy etc. …….
it’s not a Brazilian soap opera where everyone sleeps with everyone and in the evening they all have a supper together !
and since when Julie Plec said that Elena and Damon will be together ????
just sit back and enjoy the show and stop complaining !

Wasn't even hot. It was just two desperate, pathetic people can't handling pain and doing it. Lame. Rebekah's character is totally ruined. She was gonna LEAVE Klaus, KNOWING the consequences, for STEFAN. There was sooo much potential for Stebekah. Their backstory and chemistry all wasted. Remember that Rebekah is an original and for her to feel the way she did about Stefan knowing ALL the countless bachelors she's met is saying a lot. She was gonna abandon Klaus for him. Whatever. TVD better step it up or its gonna continue to plummet and fast.

"Also yes, people, we are allowed TO NOT like the show and criticize it for its mistakes. It does not make us less of "fans", but you know what it makes us NOT BE? Blind fangirls who accept everything the writers throw at them no matter what that is."

Definitely this. I've really really enjoyed this show S1 and S2 and even parts of S3 BUT you can tell its declining quickly. Why can't shows LAST nowadays? Buffy the Vampire Slayer lasted and was INCREDIBLE the whole way through. Why can't shows be like that now? Same with Gossip Girl, sooo good in the beginning but now its literally if i miss it, "ehhh w/e i'll just watch next weeks". And now unfortunately same with TVD unless they start to straighten themselves out.

BTW, Rebekah sleeping with Damon RUINED her character. Not only did she do it once, but TWICE. She was soooooo in love with Stefan in the 1920s(LOVED that episode btw) and when she came back she hardly tried to win him back and now she slept with Damon? That scene was

I can't see any road the show wants to take and I haven't seen any in the last episodes. Everything seems to be random and accidentally. It's just not the Vampire Diaries I have enjoyed until last year.
    THIS SO MUCH.
The show has been flying all around the place this year, baiting fangirls with cheap fanservice but not really moving into any direction and just...standing still and rotting in one place. Everything that happens gets undone or becomes pointless few eps down the line and NOTHING comes out of it all.

If there was a textbook definition of "milking the franchise for money" TVD would be the textbook example of it now.

Worst episode ever :-( Nothing really worked for me, nothing made me feel excited, no character was - in any way - outstanding!

I don't give a damn about Bonnie and her mother, I don't care at all if Stefan and Elena will be together again in the near future, Caroline was totally underchallenged and Alaric's storyline was just ... there ... but not thrilling.

And Sage? Really??? She seemed to be an independent, freedom-loving woman last week, but now we get to know she WAITED NINEHUNDRED YEARS for a guy she knew maybe a few weeks or months?! Even if she knew him for some years - almost a millennium is quite a while!!! So - seriously? She still does everything for him?

I can't see any road the show wants to take and I haven't seen any in the last episodes. Everything seems to be random and accidentally. It's just not the Vampire Diaries I have enjoyed until last year.

My question is will Mer ride into the sunset with Alaric, make them a couple which can last!I really dig torrrey and she is an amazing actress but her character wasn't well written here! And of course a spell can fix everything! Great they didn't forgot about Jer!
The arrival of Sage! I wanted more than some hot and nasty scenes! U can't trust Sage! But on the other side the Damon/Stefan bounding! i really great!?
Caro is the star of this show!she is so strong and I love her!such a huge development!Liked the struggle of Abby, she is a pretty strong character! And Bonnie forgive her again! XD
One of the weaker eps of this season! Miss the first half, but they should've make up for it n these last 5!

  13. dingle

The underlying problem is Sage is Ugly

im sorry but its just so hard to make her face pretty in my mind. She looks like William Dafoe.

  14. angel101cales

The episode wasn't bad but I miss seeing Tyler and Jeremy....I don't like Sage at all and felt like her presence wasn't super important. I thought the writers were going to have Damon and Elena get together and now I am confused which direction they are heading. Oh well can't wait for more. :)

  15. chaela

Welcome back JERRMY!!!!!!!! PLEASE COME BACK FOR GOOD! WE MISS U!
anyone else think that he (jeremy) is not telling us something.

  16. Ashlynn

I for one have loved this season! And, because I have read the books, I can now see that they are bringing something from the books in, which is possession (Alaric). They have strayed from the books for soooo long, but now I can see a slight connection coming our way. (: I am happy with the show. It leaves me wanting more after every episode!

  17. Hilary

Yep I'm w/the review writer. This show was boring and predictable. I enjoy the originals much better then anyone else. And if I have to continue to see Damon and everyone other than Elena.........then at this point I don't think I'm holding out for season 4.

  18. Invested In Your Future

They haven't failed us previous 3.5 seasons they aren't gonna fail us now
    Talk for yourself.

Ever since Masquerade, this show pretty much did almost nothing else but wrong decisions, writing inconsistencies, plot holes and bad quality writing. This season it all trippled in those things, taking away anything that was good.

  19. Invested In Your Future

Overall fans you have to be honest with this seaon and realize that there's been no real progression in the SL. Your evil Villain hasnt caused the chaos we've been hoping for with his hybrid army. Which has been rendered useless. We are going in circles with SLs which is kill originals & Stefan learning to control is blood hunger.

THIS SO MUCH. This filler season can be defined by two words: Disappointing and misogynistic.

Also yes, people, we are allowed TO NOT like the show and criticize it for its mistakes. It does not make us less of "fans", but you know what it makes us NOT BE? Blind fangirls who accept everything the writers throw at them no matter what that is.

  20. nasne

@ Amanda: You pinpointed exactly what is wrong with the show.
The whole triangle story. For half a season we are treated to a blossoming relationship between Damon and Elena, and now Bam, it's gone.
The Bonny storyline.. so.. we are suppose to care that her mom turned and is leaving again?
And the Alaric storyline, oh Ric.. so much could have been done with this story instead of just turning up out of the blue, oh btw, we have a killer and it's you.
Am I wrong, or did this season start with an amazing villan and a good storyline? You would almost forget there ever was a hybrid army that threathened everyone. sigh.. I miss Klaus.

  21. buggy

Come one. It wasn't that bad. I like this direction the show is going. It's back to blood pumping and heart racing action again. I trust what the writers are doing. We all have our versions of how the show should go, but what the writers have planned is going to please the audience anyway. Have faith! They haven't failed us previous 3.5 seasons they aren't gonna fail us now. Enjoy the ride! :D

  22. Adriana

i love every second of this week's episode! 5/5 for me! but hey Matt i know you're entitled to yuor opinion and i totally respect that but 3.4/5...really?

  23. Amanda

They have completely abandoned the "love triangle" angle, which is disappointing as there was never any resolution really - clearly Elena had been juggling feels for Damon for many episodes against feelings for Stefan and then one day she dropped them never to think about it again. It felt unnatural. Worse yet instead they have replaced it with story lines no one really cares about. At worst is the Bonnie and her mom story line and frankly we could never hear from either again and I almost wouldn't even notice, Tyler Lockwood is out running rouge somewhere never to be hear from again? The Alaric story line is intriguing but doesn't seem to carry the show because of all the character focus on the other story lines, and finally it comes back to the Salvatore brothers trying to kill some originals. The problem with that story line now is that it no longer seems necessary.

Mrs Alex how can you say that if someone is disappointed in the show & didn't like it that there not a fan. I'm a big NY Jets fan but I don't agree with there personal decisions lately and I'm not the only one. But I'm still a fan. Just because we can be bias & we voice our opinion on it. Doesn't mean we're less of a fan then you.

Ok first, I too was bothered by the entire appearance of Sage. I really didn't like the fact that Damon and Stefan were just talking about her in the previous episode and then she suddenly shows up??? Seems backward to me.

I disagree with the assessment of Rebekah though. The only reason she came across as pathetic was because she was working with Sage, right? I mean I was under the impression that she was in on the scheme to set up Damon and get him to locate the white oak. Did I misunderstand that?

And I didn't think we got enough of crazy Ric. Matthew Davis did a fantastic job playing dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I kind of love Evil Alaric and would just like to see more.

Overall, I enjoyed the episode, but I am deeply missing the Damon and Elena interactions. I would like to see Elena really start to show her feelings for Damon. She already told Matt she couldn't "shake him". I don't even mind if they don't get together but I think those emotions need to be explore
