NCIS Scoop: Cote de Pablo Teases Tiva Trip to Colombia

at . Comments

What will happen between NCIS' Tony and Ziva when they go to South America together next month? Cote de Pablo (Ziva) shares some insight on that very subject in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Cote notes that on one of the last trips Tony and Ziva took - to Paris, in Season 7's "Jet Lag" - the pair gave conflicting reports about the nature of their interactions, keeping viewers guessing as to what took place.

That was exactly their intention, she says.

“The France trip was really great, lots of fun. But Michael [Weatherly] and I had our own agenda. The way we played scenes was that something definitely happened, even though it was never addressed,” she recalls.

On the show's next new episode, airing April 10, the pair takes a trip to Colombia to work a case alongside a longtime friend and mentor of Ziva’s, played by guest star Karina Lombard of The L Word fame.

According to de Pablo, during the course of the episode, this character from her past, who viewers will meet for the first time, seeks to instill in Ziva the realization that life is a series of important choices.

“In this particular episode, I can’t say that much happens, but at the end, there’s definitely a moment where you may take a closer look at the way DiNozzo may feel for Ziva,” she teases.

With three episodes left for her to film this season, de Pablo says she’s not sure how the events from this episode will influence the end of the current season - or the 10th season starting next fall.

“That’s a really good question and I talked about it with [EP Gary Glasberg] and the writers. I think they have a little bit of information they’re not giving to me,” she says. “We’ll have to wait and see.”

If Tiva happens, it will be final act by tptb to pretty much destroy and marginalize DPB's Tony, who was originally created as a multi layered, dangerous, brilliant, empathetic, sexy, clever, quirky, brave, and sometimes jerky enigma. He will be reduced to the joke of the week and Ziva's purse. But hey - the most compelling agenda is to feature and flatter Ziva, so this crappy thing will probably happen.

THIS will be THE episode we have all been waiting for.. AMEN! TIVA!!!!

What an interesting spoiler.
Jet Lag is one of my top 10 episodes so I can't wait to see this one, especially the ending.

After the wonderful progression in the relationship between Tony and Ziva we've seen this season so far, I hope it will continue to progress. The writers have done a wonderful job of setting up a deep, authentic friendship between the pair, the development of a romantic relationship would now, more than ever, be both believable and timely. Can't wait for this episode!

My comment was cut off. Just a few more final thoughts. Ziva is not naive. Ziva's been in the intelligence game her whole life and some of the things she's been saying lately or situations that the writers are putting her in seem to contradict the know how we've seen from her character from Day 1. I'm hoping Ziva's character returns to the balance that was evident in the past and continues to grow on an emotional and caring level with Tony's and the rest of her co-workers. Some of my favorite episodes where I feel Ziva's character was the perfect blend were Good Cop Bad Cop, Reunion, Undercovers, Cloak, Shalom, Nine Lives, Identity Crisis, Designated Target, Kill Ari, etc. etc,. There are of course so many more but I won't bore you with my 'yabba yabba'.

I disagree NCIS is No Dawson's Creek and in Dawson's Creek love triangle between Joey Dawson and Pacey and other teen drama. there no love triangle on NCIS all NCIS where do you see a love triangle Tony and Ziva never were together they just may or May not get together

Dont you guys ever hear about team Tiggy. That is Tony and McGee. What if they go gay????? Never Know!!!

I'm definitely intrigued and psyched for this episode. I hope we get to see the funny, smart, intense, and very sexy and seductive side of Ziva with Tony down in Columbia. Don't get me wrong I love seeing the more adorable cute and sensitive girly side of Ziva. I've always loved seeing peaks into that side of Ziva over the years. In the past when we saw these girly sensitive sides of Ziva they felt more natural and subtly surprising in a good way when they were revealed. And during these times Ziva's character always maintained her intelligence and even sexiness at the same time. Girly sensitive Ziva was like a sweet fun surprise during an episode. Lately, this season mostly it seems like they are over doing the 'naive' and trying to turn her into that boring incompetent Kate character. Ziva is not naive. Ziva's been in the intelligence game her whole life and some of the things she's been saying lately or situations that the writers are putting her in seem to contradict the know how and brains we've seen from Ziva since Day 1. I truly want more of a balance with the character. My favorite episodes were Ziva's character have been an awesome blend have been Cloak, Undercovers, Shalom, Reunion, Nine Lives, Identity Crisis, Good Cop Bad Cop, Endgame, Dead Air, etc., etc. Actually there are probably many more from the past that wrote Ziva with a perfect balance but I won't bore you with my long list.

Looking forward to this episode. When it is just Tony and Ziva they really listen to each other and try to support each other. I love the character of Ziva and Cote is an amazing actress.
I so hope Tiva happens soon. I think it will be so much fun watching these two characters( played by two amazing actors) work on making this relationship happen. It will be hard but so worth it.

NCIS is everything like Dawnson Creek I can so see Cote de Pablo as Joey Potter they act so much alike Michael(Tony) has become the Pacey Witter of the show Gibbs is Mitch Leery and Mcgee is Jack McPhee

NCIS Quotes

Tony: One other question, I know you're an expert in English history. And I was just wondering, have you ever heard of Archibald Drummond, the 17th Earl of Trent?
Ducky: The Earl of Trent. No, I can't say I have. Why?
Tony: I was just wondering. Thanks.

McGee: All right. Well you should probably know that Abby and I used to date?
Bishop: Ew. Like, each other?
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: Wait - isn't that a violation of rule 12, never date a....
McGee: It was a long time ago. After we'd broken up, one night I went to her lab. Found a scribbled piece paper; a list. Potential boyfriends had to fulfill certain conditions by a pre-arranged date or else, goodbye.
Bishop: Such as.
McGee: Things started off relatively normal: opening the door for her, flowers, putting the seat down. Then around number 8, it gets uh...
Bishop: What?
McGee: Does she know you have these?
Bishop: Does she know you have these?
McGee: Yeah she wasn't happy when she found out.
Bishop: These are all very specific.
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: These ideas apply to you?
McGee: No those rules weren't in place when we were together. At least I don't think so.
Bishop: What's with the two month cutoff? Abby's sabotaging herself. I've seen stuff like this before. We have to talk to her.
