@guyfan I guess it's because of the terrible writing and horrible storylines like the Louis/Royalty crap.

@DB I cant express how much I agree with you. WTH is wrong with people coming here complaining so hard about a show they didnt have to watch? Other people coming here trying to rally people to get it canceled?? I understand you liking the recent storyline but why the hell are you taking it so personal? Just use that little gadget called the remote and change the freakin channel! As for me I think the season is awesome so far and I hope they keep up the good work. There are some serious haters out there. SMH.

@Ace I'm just saying, Gossip Girl's repeats haven't exactly gone so well, especially in term of demos they've gotten 0.2s. Other shows have had better luck with syndication and attracting an audience/newcomers.

Actually those shows are much more successful and there's much more stability compared to Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries is the only show on the CW that can get over a 1.0 in demos, which is significant especially since it's on the CW, Supernatural does really well in DVD sales.

Gossip Girl has had buzz/hype/special treatment from the CW and it's still floundering, it's even worse this year even with disappointing results from the overhyped 100th episode.

There's a reason why the big networks haven't followed the CW's business model and that's because it doesn't work, the whole network is a joke and it's been declining ever since it started. It's the CW's own fault if they choose to continue to follow in Dawn Ostroff's incompetence.

@pty

I have some industry experience as I interned in production accounting for a bit before I settled into treasury.

Eh, getting new viewers is hit or miss, hence why syndication happens. But since they will be syndicating the entire series, they stand a better chance at attracting new viewers or a different network on a different timeslot. 5 years ago since the pilot has been a long time in television standards, and in those 5 years, newer audiences continue to emerge: the first couple of seasons were actually decent, so it stands to argue that they can attain new demos in syndication.
