Lost Ranked on IMDB as Top Series of Last 10 Years
Debates over its conclusion may continue forever, but let there be no mistaking its popularity throughout its six season run: Lost left quite an impression on viewers.
The biggest impression of any series in the 10 years of IMDB's existence, in fact, as that database has released a list of the 10 most-viewed shows in site history, based on their average ranking over the previous decade. And they are...
- Lost
- House M.D.
- Grey’s Anatomy
- Heroes
- How I Met Your Mother
- 24
- Glee
- True Blood
- Dexter
- Gossip Girl
Nothing too shocking there, but perhaps a more intriguing question is this: What shows will be included on that list over the next 10 years?

This is not actually a ranking of the best or top-rated shows of the past 10 years. This list merely reflects how often the IMDB page for each show was visited. The list of the top 10 shows in terms of rating includes Planet Earth, The Wire, Arrested Development, Breaking Bad and the Sopranos. None of the shows from this list are repeated in the Top 10 in terms of rating. Dexter is highest at number 17.

How about Arrested Development? Community? Veronica Mars? Mad Men? Who's the pothead behind this list?

OMG what a horrible selection. Heroes, True Blood, and GG shouldn't be in the Top 100.

Not too surprised with these results as IMDB are using a user base voting system.
Somethings are liking to one fan base while others are not so. Cult fanbase and a good online presence always helps in voting in what's popular. Shows like How I Met your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Glee and Two and Half Men rake in millions of viewers and have a huge demographic and have a readied online fan base, so not too surprise again.

Nothing shocking there.
Predictions for next decade based on what we have now:
The Good Wife
Once Upon a Time
Maybe Justified or the other critically acclaimed cable shows.
The Vampire Diaries *g*
