Let's focus on the real question: What was your general take on the midseason finale, and the first half of Season 5?

The writers are losing their game. They try to convince us that the story is going somewhere when really it's been on rinse and repeat since Season 3. GG has officially lost it and gone over to terrible Telenovela soap opera drama side. Proof: Louis, Chivy, the baby and the biggest copout since Bill Clinton's definition of "sexual relations".

Seriously, remember those days when the UES was fairy-tale like? There was the extravagant brunch, modeling world, Cotillion, etc. Every other episode serves as a reminder that these people are living the 1% lifestyle most of us envy. Now the writers don't even care to make the UES look tantalizing. They brought on Prince Louis to create a false sense of glamour which failed. We didn't even know the Paparazzi cared about the wedding until this episode!

What they need right now is to bring back the N-JBC with the original cast members: Serena, Blair, Nate, Chuck and Dan. No more Nate banging some random female plot device that'll leave by the end of the season. No more Serena dating the first cute guy that compliments her. No more Blair degrading herself by running to Chuck like a needy spoiled brat whenever she can. No more... well, more Dan Humphrey, but no more Muppet hair. And no more remorseful Chuck. He's great as a dark knight, not as a pretend knight in shining armor.

Oh and no more Chivy. Yeah she fits well in the UES, but her storyline is more irrelevant than Louis'.

And for goodness sake, Blair needs to grow up. She couldn't even wait to officially break it up with Louis before:
a. having sex with Chuck in S4 and
b. kissing him (and probably would have humped him dry if the accident didn't conveniently happened) this season.

And people thought Blair would be a good mother. Yeah, try explaining that to your child. "So, your father was a prince and the perfect gentleman. But I'd rather cheat on him with my ex... No, I didn't break up with the prince first, why would I? I was too confused and absorbed in my feeling. I also was and still am so desperate to get back with Chuck because no matter how messed up we are, we have that hot sizzle going on. Didn't you know sweetie? Sexual attraction and emotional abuse is what you need to look for in a relationship."

GG, I apologize for failing to study your convoluted screed more carefully. Once it got to the part about your special mental abilities, I realized I was out of my weight class and gave up.

I agree that the show is not making logical sense these days. It is moving so slowly and Chuck is unrecognizable. He is a little TOO NICE. The show needs him to be a little edgy and bad. Blair and Chuck have not worked for a reason. There are real life couples like Chair and most of the time, those couples learn from their mistakes and choose someone that they are better suited for. If I were Blair, I could never completely forget everything that Chuck had done to me. But, that aside, the push and pull of their relationship is repetitive. I thought that the writers were going somewhere with Dan and Blair in February, but their relationship has also become pathetic and repetitive. It is actually really, really sad to see Chuck so nice that he bores me and Dan so sad that I don't want to watch him suffer. When did Nate get to have all the fun?

@ Jade - All your points sound like a great reason for Chair to STOP getting together. Let the writer's do something new - MAKE DAIR HAPPEN! As you have pointed out, each season has contained Chair getting together and something horrible happening as a result.

"The precise, objective workings of your highly analytical mind suggest to me that you should be a lawyer, if you're not one already. Cheers!"

Thanks and those snide, little zingers devoid of any wit suggest to me that you should be a poster over at TWoP. If you're not one already. Seriously, you'd fit right in.

Great comeback, LuLu.

the writers have gone too far.. i mean enough messing around with chuck and blair.
they finally make chuck and blair happy with each other and then they get into a car accident. chuck is near death and blair is still spotted in a wedding dress. chuck and blair are an on again off again relationship and they finally deserve to be happy together. the writers do this all of the time..
season 2- bart's funeral goes to blair at night and they share that amazing hug..... chuck leaves a note and leaves
season 3- chuck is about to propose to blair... stupid and annoying dan comes and ruins everything (mostly blaming chuck for sleeping with jenny though)
season 4- chuck and blair are going to be together (season finale)... chuck lets her go at the end.
season 5- together for one episode... get in car accident.
its time the writers stop messing with their relationship and finally make them be together. there are more characters in the series that they can have more story lines for.
when chuck and blair get back together it should be for good. no drama, no nothing in the way and they live happily ever after.

TFV168's comment about wanting Dan's blood flowing through Chuck and Blair was soooo funny!!! :)

Dan was the biggest man, i really hope Blair gives him a chance, also like how Serena is know the one that is after Dan, when Dan pretty much had to compete with Nate, and now Dan is after Blair. I really hope the wedding doesn't happen, but I think Louis might be the one to leave Blair, because he won't be able to get rid of the thought that Blair could leave him again for Chuck or Dan, more likely Chuck though, that's my theory though on the wedding.

@lulu.....spot on with the epic call.

Dan is the man this week. He has made her happy even though him hurt. more importantly he knows what makes her happy
chair will not be happy when they are together because they will always hurting each other like in season 1 to season 4 and 5x10 accidents that make them hurt, so they will be hurt if they are together.
love does not have to have.
True love (always makes her happy without ever making her hurt)
