Hawaii Five-0 Review: Welcome to Margaritaville

"Ki'ilua:Deceiver.

From Chin Ho proposing to the guys from Seal Team 9 tagging along to help rescue Steve, this episode of Hawaii Five-0 turned out to be quite a rollercoaster ride, and I mean that in the best way possible.

Okay, Chin Ho fans, who’s happy that he's marrying the woman who broke up with him when he was suspected of stealing from the police department? It's something we can all consider: how much are you willing to forgive the person you love most?

It’s easy for us as spectators to pass judgment on fictional characters, but I want you to think for a moment: what if the situation was real? Could you forgive the person you truly love for believing the worst about you? It’s a tough call. Thankfully, most of us will never need to make.

Helicopter Escape

Now we move on the sad part. I hope you and Josh find each other on the other side, Jenna. Rest in peace, knowing that Steve will take your murder out on Wo Fat, a tiny painful bit at a time.

Steve never believed the worse about you. He saw who you really were and was willing to forgive your mistake, even if it was big enough to land him as a prisoner in Korea.

I know some TV Fanatics were hoping that a different female was killed by Wo Fat. Personally, I enjoyed watching Lori shoot the RPG and blow up the bridge. From all the camera angles they showed it from, I’m guessing they got one try at that stunt. It was enough, it was awesome.

It was good to see Commander Gutches (David Keith) again. I really enjoyed the tie-in to the earlier episode, with Seal Team 9 owing Steve for a skydive catch of one of their team members. Wait! We also had the double whammy of Joe White (Terry O’ Quinn) working together with Gutches throughout the episode. I think my man crush may have just expanded a little.

Did anyone else catch Danny’s Margarita reference to Jimmy Buffett? Sadly, I couldn’t figure out how to get it in the quotes section for this episode, but it was great enough that I had to mention it. Speaking of Buffett, for the second time in as many weeks, we have been treated to some decent screen time with our guest start. How awesome was this iconic singer as the grizzled war vet helicopter pilot? I loved him!

Was anyone else actually glad when Wo Fat got away? He is such a great nemesis, I was dreading him getting killed or captured and the story ending abruptly, so I was relieved to see him trudging through the jungle.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I'm looking forward to the day Steve makes him pay for his father’s and Jenna Kaye’s death. But I want Steve to be do it personally not to have it be random gun fire in the jungle.

Finally, I have to mention my on going crush: Lori. The hug she gave Steve clearly shows her loyalties don't lie with the Governor any more, if they ever did. So, come on now. Tell me some new members joined the I Love Lori Club this week. Anyone?

@Zia.. I agree with you. I dont get cocky from him at all. Every interview he has done he seems hard on himself not full of himself. I think he is a nice guy. He has a fantastic sense of humor too. I did not get that he has a problem with americans from that interview at all. He loves Hawaii, moved there even..... and that is america!!

@Veronica...I saw the interview and I don't think he meant anything by that. He was speaking to a European crowd and he just mentioned that the Europeans get irony, and that the Americans did not as much. He lives here in the U.S. and had always said how much he likes it and the people. I am an American and I know we are not perfect. Alex is not getting cocky. We all say things that are taken out of context and say things that we wish we could take back. He has a good heart from what I see and always talks about giving back to the community.

The Canadian show was cancelled last year I have the DVDs.

Well I am going to keep watching but still send my complaints to cbs about lori. I am not going to be part of hurting a show I love so much. I truly believe lori is not going to stay on the team for much longer. There is no way she will become a core part of this show. They have already changed the direction of her as she was brought on as a love interest for steve. There has been no signs that they are going forward with that. That in of itself shows that even if they are keeping her a bit longer they are reigning back her role. ALex O Loughlin is the star of this show and that is not going to change as per Mikes comment. AOL is becoming a huge commodity in hollywood and H50 will not screw up having him as the lead. He also has some say in his character and has said repeatedly he is like a baby with a rattle when it comes to the writing for steve. He protects that character and he will make sure the fans get what they want. When Lori is gone Kono will get her screentime back. I have no problem waiting for the higher ups to do the right thing and I believe that they will. Even if it takes a bit longer then we would like.

Wait a minute. Do you think Kono-Grace Park is leaving the show for the Canadian show? Her husband does live in Canada. I only watch the show for her and a little for Scott Caan. Alex has gotten a little to cocky for my taste nowadays. If Kono leaves the show, so do I!!!!

I guess if your are an Alex fan it's easy to stick with the show, if you are a Kono, which I am, it's a little more difficult as she is the one be pushed to the background. I will stop watching and watch season 1 and The Border a Canadian show where she plays DHS agent, a better one than Lori. Sorry to feel that way

I finally have to admit I have been worn down. I really don't give a crap whether Lori stays or goes. I'll watch the show when I get the change-recording it each week. I just don't have the same interest that I did last year. On kind of the same note, did anyone see the interview AOL did for Belgium? He sure talks like he doesn't respect Americans much! My respect etc. for AOL and his character is lowered as well.

I actually saw pictures of her in that same blouse in early November. All five of them were on a break, checking their phones, sitting in a dump truck scoop (if that is what you would call it), trying to get some shade. The dump truck looks as though its in the next episode putting dirt on the school bus. I do believe that they are all on break for the holidays as Jim G. had said they did last year. I heard that Lauren German was back in LA, so I assume Grace Park is in Canada with her husband, Alex is in Australia with his son, Scott is in LA. The only one who's family is in Hawaii is Daniel. They start filming in July so they should be ahead since the season did not start until September.
Unfortuneatly, that means the fate of the Lori character has already been decided, and since they are not talking, we won't find out until we watch episode 2-14 in January.
I think they may have listened some, because we got Steve/Danny back as partners, and there has been a little less of the Lori character, although, Kono is still behind her in screen time, which still irks me.

Ok so which one of you traitors is sending Lauren German chocolate covered strawberries under the banner TeamH50? Seriously. What manner of pest control strategy is this? You know she probably ran to Lenkov, said gift in hand, screaming "look how much they luuurrrve me. Can I stay? Can I. Can I?" She probably only twitted it to make sure everyone knows just how 'popular' she really is. I'm kind of joking (but not really). Lauren and Lori may be two entities but the truth is, if CBS believes that Lauren has a committed following then they will keep Lori on the show. Actor and character are inextricably linked. I'm sure the girl only eats three times a week and then only a stick of celery but I'm still hoping that those chocolates were atleast laced with something that improves acting skills; actor-steroids if you will.

This is how I see the next episodes of Five-o:
- Wo Fat is not done with Steve McGarrett, so most likely he will try again to kill him
- a good time and place for that is Chin Ho's weeding
- possibly he will hurt someone else, Malia maybe, or kidnap Danno's daughter
- Joe knows much more about Steve's father and Wo Fat, but for some reason he won't tell Steve
- we'll find out new information about the investigation Steve's father was working on but won't find out the whole truth
- Danno's ex will show up again because her marriage is over
- Kono will have (at least she should) some romance with someone, maybe with that lab guy
- Lori will be present sill the end of the season (don't kill me for this :) )
- Wo Fat is just another piece of the chain, he is working for someone more powerful and connected

Danny: Do me a favor and watch yourself
Steve: I'll think about you the whole time.

Chin Ho: This should have been on your finger a long time ago
Malia: Chin Ho Kelly, I would love to be your wife.
