Hawaii Five-O > Hawaii Five-0 Review: Welcome to Margaritaville > Comments Page 7
The more Lori tries to get closer to Steve, the more awkward it becomes. Kono and McGarrett have a billion times more chemistry, I'd prefer to see them get together in the end. Lori needs to go! I will definitely be filling out a CBS feedback form.
@Tony...I think that Steve Mcgarrett will most certainly make work his first priority and I do not see him sleeping with or crossing that line with any of his team. That would be out of character for steve. He is the leader of that team, he wont take away from that. You are spot on with that point.
If Alex has any say about it he does not think Mcg has time for a love story either. Hopefully he has some pull being the lead of the show.
@plainjane..yup you are right. The core four are where it is at. When they return to that the magic will be back. I watch cause I need my Hawaii five o fix every week but I dvr it and FF lori whenever I possibly can, if she is in a scene with steve I mute her. LOL!! Dont want to miss my Mcg fix cause of her.
She has ruined it for me. After the season opener, it went right down hill, and Lori was the reason, along with less Danny, less Chin, and less Kono. Kono should have been in the helicopter, not Lori. The Core four are what we want, not a fifth wheel.
The new girl doesn't bother me as much as she seems to bother just about everyone else. It's a cop show, and as I said, as long as they keep us interested with the same weekly formula they've been using since week one, I'll be happy. Along the way, I also want them to keep the Steve Mcgarrett/Wo Fat thread going, and if it's anything like the original, obviously, I want that thread to continue for the duration of the show. Every great hero needs a great villian to play off of.
As for the supporting characters, yes, they are certainly more interesting than the original Danno and Company, but this isn't 90210. If this new woman is a pain behind the scenes, what business is it of ours? The cast all have their interesting little tidbits that keep us tuned in, but there isn't enough time in an action cop show to really peel many onions.
Are they trying to shove a romance down our throats? Yes, but it's subtle enough that it doesn't bother me. If the current Steve Mcgarrett is anythi
I forgot to add I also think it is important on the other side of the coin to also give postive feedback on the comments page for the shows core four and how amazing they are. I did that as well. AOL, Daniele Dae Kim , Grace Park, and Scott Caan deserve props for what they have done with this show and I want CBS to know that as well. I want many many season to come of these four.
@Zia...yeah I was very clear on my feelings about the character of lori but left the actress herself out of it. ALthough I dont really care for her either....LOL!! I have heard some pretty bad stuff but to me it is not about her it is about the character and that the team of four need to be the focus. Bring on all the one epi guest stars you want but leave the core team alone!!!
Look at Terry O'Quinn, I think he has been fantastic because he does not take over the show. He is just an addition that adds something to the show, he gives Steve Mcg someone who cares about him almost as a father. I love what that added. Steve seemed so alone before when it came to family. That is what a new character should do....add to the chemistry not detract from it.
@Jeri...oh no not at all! I understood you were just giving us a helpful reminder. You are right. If we approach it correctly we could make a difference.
I was thinking, how much in advance do they tape?? It is possible she has already filmed her final scenes and we dont know it. How nice would that be???
@Mike..actually the ratings have gone up. It has been winning the 10 pm time slot for woman 18-49 too. The ratings are starting to reach the first season numbers. That is good news for those of us who love this show and want to see many seasons to come but it may on the other hand cause them to not see a reason to write this character off if ratings are holdling up. I am not willing to risk the show to make a point though so the only avenue I have is to write to the network. When you have a successful show with a successful formula you leave it alone, do not fix what does not need fixing!!! They dont seem to get that.
I too sent a message in to the CBS feedback. An easy way is to go into CBS.com and scroll down any page, then click on feedback and the form will come up.
I agree with Amazingalex and Jeri please do not get nasty, be logical, nothing personal about anyone. Simply explain why you feel the character is not working. I did not want to sign the petition because too many people were getting too personal, after all this was not Lauren German's idea, she just applied for a job and got it.
I think that all the letters and blogs out there that are voicing their opinion about the show really does little good as far as reaching the producers. CBS on the other hand does have a say in whether or not a show stays on the air. If a lot of people do not like the way the show is going and the ratings start to fall off (which they are) you can bet your bottom dollar that they will contact the producers and let them know that "the people have spoken" so (excuse the pun) get with the program. One would think that the fact that there is sooo much negative feedback, something would've already been done. I'm not too sure but this is probably the most negative feedback I have ever seen about one character. I almost feel sorry for her...
amazingalex hope you didn't think I was singling any one out I was making general statement. You were rite on with your approach. keep it up. It's kind healing to realize so many people share a mutual feeling about a show we all love.
@martinelli...I googled CBS feedback forum and it will take you right to the page and let you choose which show you have feedback on and then choose if it is a complaint or a comment.
@Jeri.. I was sure to be very polite and almost professional in the way I wrote my complaint. I would think being rude and mean would get your feedback ignored for sure. I am going to write in a few more times as well. I said nothing bad about the actress but did express that the core four are really all the show needs to continue in its success. Having guest stars each week is great but to feel the need to add to the team that we have all fallen in love with will never take off with H50 fans. We are loyal to the four because they work. Dont try to fix what is not broken!! I did add that the character of lori is not working but left out anything personal about her.
I've been posting on the CBS site for about 5 weeks now hopefully will do some good. Please be polite, lashing out won't help.
@Plain Jane - can you give us the feedback form link?
The feedback form is directed at the network, not the stations. And yes, CBS has control over the show and cares if people are not watching it. I am working on a letter to Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment. She will also care, and she definitely has influence. People have been telling Peter Lenkov for weeks how they feel and he seems to be ignoring it, but he has a contract with CBS. If the powers that be at CBS tell him what to do, he can't ignore them. That's why I'm in favor of going over his head, so I've signed the petition and I fill out the feedback form every week.
I'm really glad people are writing letters and voicing their opinions, however, the stations (i.e. CBS) only air the shows - they have no creative control over them. Generally they don't care why people are, or aren't, watching a show, nor can they make any decisions about it. So it's important to note that the letters/opinions need to be directed at the producers/writers of the show, not the station.
You're welcome again, @amazingalex. Glad it helped.
Yeah, I think "Scrappy Doo" is my new nickname for her.
@plainjane...LOL!! Yup that is a great analogy!! SHe is more annoying then scrappy doo though!!!
I went and filled in a complaint form on cbs site right after posting here. It felt really good to vent. I dont know who gets the feedback but I am glad I did it. Thanks again. I never knew you could do that. Felt like a weight off my shoulder for sure. I highly recommend it!! ha ha!
You're welcome, amazingalex. You've got a smart sister.
Someone on one site said Lori is like Scrappy Doo, and I'm beginning to see it (I hated Scrappy. LOL!).
Personally I don't mind Lori. But to those who ''hate the haters'' everyone is allowed to have an opinion.
Regarding the addition of Lori and less Kono is the actress choice. I am pretty sure I've read somewhere (probably TV Guide) that Grace Park said that she would like another female character on the show so Kono's not the only woman in season 2.
And the heels? Most female cops on TV crime shows wear heels on crime scenes. Just look at Beckett in Castle, whos shoes are usually six inches, unforgettable, all the 3 CSI shows etc. The women where high heels.
@plainjane...that is good to know. I will use the cbs site to file my complaint. I would think that would definately get to them. They want feedback, I got some for them!!!!! Lori better not be signed on for more then the original 12 epis or my head will explode.
I actually watched H50 today with my sister who has never watched it before and her comment was "why do they even have that blonde on this show??? That other girl is fantastic. The blonde has zero personality." "And why does she have her hands on her hips all the time? It is distracting" This is from someone who is not familiar with the show or the core four and she picked up that lori does not belong. That spoke volumes to me!!
First: I'd like to apologize for my English, which is only my third language.
Second: I'd like to go back a bit in time and review the facts. In episode 2, when Lori showed up in Five-o, the Governor said she is a profiler and has been profiling for six years for homeland security. Then at that coffee house, when they were waiting for Porter, Steve said she graduated from some law school. I know she started her carrier at the FBI (she said that herself) and probably she had some training as a field agent (and experience too) but even so, she is a profiler.
Kono is a cop. Ok, she has only 1,5 years of experience but at Five-o, that means a lot, she has been trough a lot at Five-o.
Considering the facts, I think Kono has more right to be on the field with the guys then Lori. I think Lori should stay at the headquarter and do the CSI work.
just checked the #of comments for eps 8&9 the comments on this ep are double. I believe that is an indication people getting more frustrated every week.
