Grey's Anatomy Burning Question: How Will Teddy Respond?

at . Comments

After a heart-wrenching episode Thursday night, Grey's Anatomy left viewers with plenty of unanswered questions heading into 2012. Chief among them: What’s going to happen to poor Teddy?

Kim Raver recently spoke to EW about that very subject ...

“It’s like the time-bomb waiting to explode,” she says.

Doctor Teddy Altman

“I know that she doesn’t just dissolve into a puddle on the floor. It’s not that kind of grieving. I know she will go into ‘Let me try to fix it’ mode. But we don’t know how long that will hold,” says the star.

Not that it's necessarily going to be easy. Moreover, she said, when the show returns from hiatus, the dynamic between Cristina, Owen and Teddy will be unlike any we’ve seen between them before.

“To have the three of them interacting is going to be interesting to watch and to see the outcome from this devastating event weigh on all three of them. The impact of it [will be great].”

And, of course, she says, one of the things that will weigh most heavily on the former Army doc is the suddenness of her husband’s tragic death and the fact that she wasn’t there.

“In her mind, when she talks to him [before surgery], she’s sure she’s going to see him in post-op. It’s not like it was a tricky surgery,” she says. “It’s like when we get in our car - you expect for there to be dangers on the road but you never expect to be flipped upside down. You don’t expect to lose someone so close to you."

"That’s just the horrifying reality she’s going to have to deal with.”

Where do you think the show will take Teddy's character after all this? How will her relationships with Owen and Cristina be affected? Share your comments and predictions in the comments below ...

I don't know why this is a surprise to anyone. They go on hiatus every year around this time. Yea it stinks, but it's not something they haven't done before.

When will the show air, I noticed it did not come on last night?

Cristina Yang never looked ok next to Owen Hunt, she looked fine with Burk & that's about it. Owen looks fine with Teddy, so hopefully he & Teddy will get back together. Cristina needs another guy next to her. Maybe I'm wrong but that's my two pence.

Not Funny!!!!! Very disappointed that the show did not air last night, with no notice that it wasn't. You guys better get it together or you will lose your viewers. Do you like that this show is popular? I thought so, but this is how you repay your viewers? Very dirty!!!!!

I think this storyline would lead to return of Dr Andrew Perkins ... as i read somewhere during summer that season 7 finale wasn't the last we saw of him! Although, yeah there would be a definite rift between Owen and Teddy!

Can not believe it's not airing tonight... How could you leave your viewers hanging for so long? Best show on tv, the writing is so real and leaves you on edge. That doesnt mean you have the right to leave us hanging this long shonda? Girl, YOU AINT RIGHT... But Ill be watching

i 2nd ck - love this show, bt dont like having to wait 7weeks for the next episode. Not cool....whats the reason Sluffing off?

Does anyone else find it funny that every time someone leaves the show they are some how killed off or have something bad happen to them. I mean first Denny, then George, then Izzy, then some of the residents in the shooting and now Henry. Who is next?

I am an avid Grey's fan, I watch this show religiously and I have to say that I was very disappointed when I turned on my TV only to find that it was not on tonight. I was really looking forward to seeing how Teddy handled the passing of her husband and how Christina handled his death being on her hands, not to mention Derek and Meredith...I really hope they get Zola back. BRING ON THE NEXT SEASON OR AT LEAST THE NEXT EPISODE!!!!!

Grey's Anatomy Season 8 Episode 9 Quotes

Cristina: You can cry.
Meredith: I don't want to cry. I'm never going to see him again.

I had a terrible day. We say it all the time; a fight with a boss, a stomach flu, traffic. That's what we describe as terrible when nothing terrible is happening.
