Glee Sneak Peeks: Covering Katy, Meeting Rory

Following a lengthy hiatus, Glee returns this Tuesday with the introduction of a foreign exchange student and another cover of a Katy Perry classic.

Let's start with the latter first: Lea Michele's version of "Firework" is one of my all-tie favorite Glee numbers, putting extra pressure on Darren Criss to top it with his lead on "Last Friday Night." Is he up for the challenge? Watch the performance now and judge for yourself:

Meanwhile, Glee Project winner Damian McGinty will debut as Rory, as Irish lad who lives with Brittany and will clash big-time with Santana. Watch the new actor discuss the role, and enjoy a couple scenes from "Pot O' Gold" in the video interview below.

WAS excited for the return but having seem the song clip I think I'll be off Glee within the month.
How many times do we have to watch these kids singing in a polished fashion (when we know it's SUPPOSED to be the first time they've attempted the song together) and being overly cheery and perky in that particular room with Will, smugly, looking/cheering on?
It's become so cliche and boring.
I used to love this show, now it's so saccharine I barely tolerate it. So sad. :(
