Grey's Anatomy Won't Write in Pregnancy of Sarah Drew

The pregnancy of Sarah Drew won't be incorporated into the Grey's Anatomy scripts in season eight. Probably for the best, as it would de-virginize April pretty fast.

That's creator Shonda Rhimes' take, anyway.

“Sarah’s due in January or February so that would be a little extreme,” she tells TV Line, though she isn’t ruling out the possibility of sex for April this season.

“I’m hopeful,” she says. “My fingers are crossed that April finally gets some.”

Not that being chief resident won't keep Dr. Kepner busy enough.

“Watching April try to be in charge of people like Cristina and Alex and Jackson is a pretty impossible task, and it’s made for comedy,” laughs Rhimes. “It’s one of the funniest things we’re working on this season.”

As for whether the effects of the shooting rampage are finally healing?

“I think so,” Rhimes says. “What’s nice about where we are [this season] is that the experience still informs them in a huge way, but it doesn’t define them.”
