From their premise to their target audience, The Secret Circle and Person of Interest share little in common.

One is a supernatural-based drama that hopes to attract fans of The Vampire Diaries, while the other is a high-tech crime series that airs on the network with the oldest demographic on television.

But both will air at 9 p.m. on Thursdays this fall - and both look pretty darn interesting to the TV Fanatic staff.

In this DVR/Internet age, viewers rarely need to actually choose between programs. But they do often give one priority over the other.
