CBS Confirms Season 9 of Two and a Half Men, Ashton Kutcher Signing

at . Comments

It's official. Two and a Half Men will be back and Charlie Sheen will not.

Ashton Kutcher signed a deal to replace Charlie Sheen next fall on Two and a Half Men, although the newcomer says Sheen cannot really be replaced.

In a press release today, Ashton said of 2 1/2 Men: "I can't replace Charlie Sheen but I'm going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people."

"I can't wait to get to work with this ridiculously talented 2.5 team and I believe we can fill the stage with laughter that will echo in viewers' homes."

Chuck Lorre, creator and executive producer of Two and a Half Men, says he's thrilled his "family" is intact and "If I could be any happier, it'd be illegal."

Kutcher will NOT be playing Charlie Harper (that would make for some downright ridiculous Two and a Half Men quotes), but rather a new character.

It's unclear how he'll be brought on, but Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones will be coming back for a ninth season, which CBS confirmed is in the works.

What do you think? Will you watch the show with Ashton as the lead?

charlie sheen is an excelent actor and im gutted he is gone but im sure ashton will be amazing aswell i just hope the show is as popular as before chuck lorre is awesome bring on more ewo and a half men

I'm from Indonesia and I watched the whole season, no more two and a half men without charlie sheen, he's great.without him, just ended the series :(

Sadly the show will never be the same. There will be a very high rating for a couple of weeks but after that ... the END. Perhaps they will either either find a way to resurrect Charlie but think it is over for 2.5. Sad end to a great series but then everything ends however this is a bitter way to end a great series. Commiserations all around.

i am not criticising anybody, but since i started watching charlie sheen playing charlie, the great show will not be the same as it was, i totally wish he comes back..... i like his life, his acting and his mockery! the show goes on with his superb sense of humor acting, in regards, compare the show to the 'love series', like love comes softly and the series, the superb acting of one actor makes the replacing actor looks like a fool! comparing this, i think its in the best interest of evryone if Sheen remains in the show! its just an opinion!

I feel Charlie's character had come toward an end anyway. He marries Rose in France but gets killed by a train. If you take away the disaster the story pretty much comes to an end anyway. His lifestyle ends and he's happy, the end.
So, I think Sheen's character and time on the show came to a natural end anyway.

The truth is that charlie sheen acted like a jerk. I am sorry but for those of you refusing to watch the show because he won't be on..that is silly. He crossed the line when he insulted the writers and the producer. The thing is yes he is a great actor and it wont be quite the same but he asked for it. When is it right to be praised for having an extreme arrogant attitude and expect people to worship the ground you walk on? I am sorry but being admired for being a jerk? What is this world coming to? What happened to being admired for being a good person?

Have any of you guys seen the last episode? seriously... wtf! And btw Ashton Kutcher is a chick flick actor! He is not a comedian!

U guys are all being retarded, almost all..
First of all, Ashton is a great actor, i agree he cant replace
Charlie Harper, but that's the point, he isn't replacing him..
Ashton is gonna be a new character in the show, and not a suddenly way younger Charlie Harper.. So dont lose u panties before u know whats what

jesus, you gies are a bunch of one-track-minded crybabies.
Its not so much about replacing, since Kutcher is not playing Charlie himself. I guess it will be hilarious. give it a shot.
btw "AshitON Kutcher".. your name is redicolous, and ofcourse people will watch the show, even you.

the show will lose the humour sense
