Im waiting for Callie to "pay the bill" now. Mer lost her baby to keep her husband and now she might lose her husband and get a baby. I'm waiting for Shonda to screw Callie over otherwise, it won't be fair!

Meredith: I was very disappointed that Meredith tampered with the trial. This isn't her first trial and she knows it's important to follow the rules or risk a potential life saving treatment for millions. I understand that she cares for Richard and Adele but she just put herself, her husband and millions of Alzheimers patients at risk. Alex is the only person who may (and that's a big MAY) be able to piece together what Meredith did but he would need a lot of background info to put it altogether. It seems her secret might be safe but for how long? What if the lock logs how many times someone comes and goes? Or worse, what if she's caught on camera??? Weren't cameras installed after the shooting? It wasn't very smart and I'm kinda annoyed that the main character not only doesn't have a focused career like her counterparts (Cristina and Alex....Avery, Lexie and...what's that girl's name again? doesn't count)but she just risked the little career she has going AND she risked Derek

I just think it's a bit too fairy tale like that Callie's baby seems to be totally fine. is that realisitic?.
Meanwhile Meredith seems to have a lot of 'cr*p' about to be heading her way, again. She's put her own and Derek's career at risk for a man who previously caused her to loose her childhood. I know Mer has positive feelings for Webber and Adele, but its just too mean of Shonda for Mer to be risking everything and getting caught out. Ironic that Alex is gonna manage to get away with his gamble and land the job as chief resident. I really am thinking is Alex or one of her fellow chief resident candidates is gonna reveal Mer's tampering with the clinical trial. I don't like this SL at all, and MerDer had better not breakup cos that will be too much to bear

... lukewarm review, from me. the show has become so- diluted? since its first engrossing, powerful 3 seasons! oh well. I do still catch myself watching new episodes as they post because I cannot help being curious what happens to some of the characters. maybe I shouldn't. I'm wondering if I was struck by the changes in the show because of the longer hiatus? I'm not sure.. but the pat, almost rote quips and dialogue quirks, the annoying musical 'commentary' during even serious attempts at meaningful dialogue, like a predictable tic, make the show- for me- so soap-opera-like. and, truthfully, Alex's interaction with his cantankerous patient, and Meredith's tampering with the trial files.. were a new "low" for me. I'm tempted to rent seasons 1-3 again, sometime.. watch them, and then say goodbye, privately, to the rest of the 'show'.

For some reason, two things hit me while watching the episode:
1) Scott Foley's character Henry, might just commit suicide (as a dramatic way to exit the show). It made sense to me as this will give Teddy more storyline with emotional trauma and grief, and luckily she has Perkins beside her for it.
2) I originally thought Alex and Mer were BOTH gonna get in trouble legally, with their actions regarding his African surgery project and her clinical trial assistance with Derek. And as a result, they'll GO AGAINST EACH OTHER, like rivals, jeopardizing each other's career and their hopes for the Chief Resident post. But now it's all nonsense since the Dragon Lady has given Alex his 200k.
Aaand, I just realized I'm using my sister's Facebook account. Fab. :D Okay episode. It advanced the SLs very much.
(P.S. Lol at everyone fussing about the "Alice" thing. And to that NICU mom, no offense, but I believe Sofia came out at 12wks.)

I thought that this weeks show sucked!!!!!!!!!!! And I love this show very much. The episode where they sang was crazy stupid!!! And this week a baby goes home from the NICU after 5 weeks!!!???? Not even possible. My baby was born at 25 weeks and stayed in the NICU for 5 months. And to have the peds Doctor do the PDA surgery is not even possible!!!!!! What a huge dissapointment on there point and what a slap in the face to mothers all over the world that have actually gone through the whole NICU experiance. They should have thought that through a lot more!

Whatever be the consequences of Meredith's dishonesty in the clinical trial, I just hope that Meredith and Derek do not split up. It will ruin the show and shoot back to season 3. They are supposed to have grown in this relationship and it's time they show this maturity in such a tough and rough. And what about the struggle for Meredith to get pregnant for one whole season? If they split up, it means that this whole season 7 was futile regarding the Merder relationship. I personally think they should be rewarded in that sense. Good things rarely happen to them in this show.

@Katiej....I'm going to have to disagree with you. The show has been on for 7 seasons with the main characters names mentioned everywhere in this site. This has been a noticeable mistake made by so called "die hard" Grey's Anatomy fans numerous times. I just find it funny.

I was just SO excited to see Alex finally getting some much deserved screentime! I missed him so much, in this was completely in true form of the character.
And I love how good Mark and Arizona get along now, the little fist-bump ro whatever they did at the beginning of the epi was great.
okayy...as much as I love Meredith and all of the original characters...I spent the entire episode wanting more Tenry! I love them too together! Teddy has to pick him over Perkins. and, with it being a tv show I think she will, but knowing Shonda she'll have her pick perkins as he's a doctor and will be more use to the show. but by having her pick henry then it shows that they can have relationships that work outside of the hospital as everyone is dating someone there!!!
seriously...TEDDY AND HENRY FTW!
also...to tv line having a couple having sex for the first time...please let it be them
Why do you weirdos even care how a character's name is spelled. Anyhow, I give the reviewer credit for being so objective. He creates more room for discussion about what actually occurred in the show. Some of you don't seem to realize this. I still think stark is very cool and I want to see more shows stark as a focus. He is a very complex character

@tisha. Big difference between adding an h in Christina. We rarely see the show write the characters' names, so it's an easy mistake. There's a bog difference between Ellis and Alice- they're too separate names.
I love Alex, he's one of my fav characters- he's grown so much it's crazy. Urgh, I hope meredith's mistake doesn't screw stuff up. Not only does the test now have Zero integrity, she's robbed another person's family. Sigh Meredith, think like a doctor!

I was surprised that not more people were upset at the way the writers destroyed Mer's character this eppi. It was like character destruction. Mer would have never jeoprodized her career or Dereks! However...as I read the comments on the Grey's Anatomy Blog: Grey Matter I am glad to see so many people, the majority (Mer/Der are the majority of the viewers) share my same opinon. Seems like most people on here are CAM fans...lol xD I don't know why...since MerDer kinda make the whole show and are the MAIN characters. Alex, Der, Mer, Cris should be on the whole eppi and the way we see barley any alex i would be happy if that was exchanged with CAM. I could care less what you respond to this comment because I am tired of Torres Anatomy...off to watch season 1&2 which was amazing because...oh yeah, it focuses on the best characters.

So much better than a freaking musical! I have been thinking about not coming back and watching the show for the last four weeks after that abhorrent excuse for an episode. I am so glad I did because this episode was class.
And I love the family of four!

the MerDer storyline thats gonna get started im really scared for i dont want anything to happen to them they are perfect. I dont want what meredith did to ruin that relationship becasue they are finally together for real. I will be freaking out if somehting happens to them because of what mer did.
The storyline for mark callie and arizona was cut ei really lked this epsiode with themm. I am happy for them.
And Lastly alexx was cracking me up with the dragon lady and the money.

There is no question that Alex will be dedicated towards helping the children. He did pull the project out of his butt, he did half ass it and he was incredibly lucky the dragon lady was loaded because he would have been financially ruined. While Christina is excited by the medical process itself, we've seen time and again that Alex is moved by actually healing and helping his peds patients.
I am very scared for Meredith. But come what may, she is fully aware of the rules and I hope that she doesn't drag down Derek or the trial with what she did.
How about having the reviews written by someone who actually watches the show?

Alice Grey? Haha. Have you, as a reviewer, even watched the show before?
But anyway, on the episode itself, I actually enjoyed it despite the consistent focus on Callie. I thought this was a very touching and moving angle for Callie to be placed in alongside Mark and Arizona. I definitely loved it when the residents made a way for her to see her baby cause it showed a lot of dynamics between the characters.
I'm interested in seeing what direction Meredith's action is going to lead to. It can't go without consequences so I wanna see what those will be and how Derek will react to them and how it will affected their relationship.
Alex's storyline was fun to watch. I liked seeing him deal with the "Dragon Lady" and his ambition towards the African children. At first it seemed to be done out of power but he seemed to genuinely care about the kids in the end.
As for Teddy and Henry, I think they were the romance the episode needed. I enjoyed every scene they had together and I ca

I loved the episode. Callie's determination was... I can't even describe it. She wanted to get better for her baby. I enjoyed seeing Arizona & Mark get along so well, and I think Baby Sofia will be in loving, capable hands all around. I also thought it was so sweet when Bailey told Callie that she wasn't scared b/c of the car accidet, but b/c she was a parent. Alex & the bantering lung cancer patient I was initially upset with. I was like she's so mean but he's just as mean back and it felt harsh to me, but when Lexie was trying to help & she asked for Alex I knew that it wasn't really the way it seemed.
I had a feeling Meredith was going to find a way to get Adele the study drug and not a Placebo. I know it was wrong, but I think my heart would be in the same place as hers.
Also, Teddy & Henry need to be together, I love them together and they both like each other so what's with them not owning up to it. lol
