Last night Futurama featured an thinly-veiled pro-same sex marriage episode, in a way only a cartoon that takes place in the future could.  The satire?  It was marriage between man and robot that was forbidden.  Instead of homosexuality it was robosexuality and instead of Proposition 8, we had "Proposition Infinity."  Get it? 

Overall, the plot was actually pretty strong and the episode definitely had more hits than misses with the jokes.  Plus, we got to see the entertaining return of several minor characters like the Robopreacher, Hedonismbotedit, URL (the robot cop - yeah we looked up his name), and, of course, the return of frequent guest voice, George Takei.

While the message was sometimes painfully obvious, its most clever moments were during the rally when they showed all the other marriages that were allowed.  We'd support any proposition that allowed love between a ghost and a horse.

Unfortunately, the episode's focus on Bender and Amy did mean the rest of the crew mostly took a backseat, including Fry and Leela, who collectively had maybe ten lines.  Luckily, Bender is one of the reasons we watch the show, anyways.
