How I Met Your Mother Round Table: "The Perfect Week"

at .

In TV Fanatic's review of "The Perfect Week," we broke down Barney's pursuit of perfection, which he ultimately achieved with the help of his friends (and Jim Nantz).

Below, our staff further analyzes various topics from last night's episode of the CBS comedy in our weekly How I Met Your Mother Round Table discussion ...

1. What was your favorite How I Met Your Mother quote from last night?

L.J. Gibbs: Barney deserved self-congratulation after this one: "That woman nursing a White Russian is about to chase it with a White American. UP TOP!"

The Barnacle: I'm not convinced there was a bad quote during the exchange of Barney and his imaginary Jim Nantz, but I'm gonna have to give it up for guest star Nantz for his line regarding Barney scoring over 200 women and not a single fatty. Impressive indeed.

Mrs. Northman: Barney: "That woman nursing a White Russian is about to chase it with a White American!" Barney has the best one liners ever!

2. More disgusting: Sharing bodily fluids with seven people in as many days, or sharing the same toothbrush with four people over at least as many years?

L.J. Gibbs: Definitely the toothbrush. Ted was basically making out with Marshall for a few years, if you want to look at it that way. Sorry for the imagery.

The Barnacle: I'm going to make the bold assumption that Barney used a condom and therefore go with unprotected sharing of toothbrushes. That and beer pong are the main cause of herpes.

Mrs. Northman: That's a toughie! I think they are both equally disgusting. BUT, a toothbrush by far beats Barney's slutty week. Hopefully he just used a condom.

3. More upsetting: The guilt felt after unknowingly mocking a poor Asian student's name, or actually being named Cook Pu?

The Barnacle: Hehe, smearing the Pu name.

Mrs. Northman: Actually being named Cook Pu. Why would you ever do that - better question, why would you never change your name?

L.J. Gibbs: The guilt from such a thing is formidable. But Having a Korean friend whose father's name is Bong (seriously), I gotta go with the name.

4. Jim Nantz's narration: Comedic gold or lame gimmick?

The Barnacle: Pure comedic gold! The whole perfect game and baseball metaphor was a little cheesy, but more than funny enough to make up for it.

Mrs. Northman: Pure comic gold. I loved having him on the show. He should stop by in Barney's fantasies more often - obviously by fantasy I mean that in a non-sexual way.

L.J. Gibbs: Gold. As a golf fan I envisioned Jim going back and forth with Tiger Woods after a round at the Masters (only on CBS!) throughout the episode. Hmmm. In light of recent events involving Tiger, Barney's faux interview seems even more appropriate...

5. Have you ever had a perfect week?

The Barnacle: You kidding me? I'm hoping for a perfect day at this point.

Mrs. Northman: No comment.

L.J. Gibbs: No, but I have had a perfect game in flip cup. Almost as tough.
