Richard Burgi has risen from the dead. Unfortunately, the former Desperate Housewives star has surfaced on a show with no current return date.

The actor has landed a role on Lie to Me, where he'll portray a state governor who is the target of an assassination attempt.

As Fancast reports, Lightman is called in to investigate the shooting , which results in the death of a woman at the scene.

Burgi's Karl Mayer was recently killed off the aforementioned ABC hit. While Fox says Lie to Me is part of its upcoming schedule, it's unknown when the Tim Roth-led drama will air again.
