Nina Dobrev on Gossip Girl? Leighton Meester on Vampire Diaries?

If you're a fan of CW stars Leighton Meester and Nina Dobrev (and who isn't), you'll love this fun item from E! today. Their mutual executive producer, Bob Levy, wants the real-life BFFs to guest star on each other's hit dramas on the network.

"I love the idea!" Levy said of having Nina guest star on Gossip Girl, and Leighton returning the favor by turning up on The Vampire Diaries at some point.

"We're gonna work on that. You have my word."

The girls are up for it, too. Leighton and Nina became friends while shooting the upcoming film The Roommate, set to come out later this year, and Dobrev she would jump at the chance to deliver a guest appearance on the Upper East Side.

"Oh my god, I would love to be on Gossip Girl," Nina Dobrev said. "It's hard because we're both so busy. But I would love to, and for her to be on our show."

"Leighton would make a great vampire, I think!"

CW CROSSOVER: Could these Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl stars collide?

The big problem is working out logistics, given that Vampire Diaries shoots in Atlanta and Gossip Girl in NYC. But here's hoping that they can make it happen - ASAP!

In the meantime, Nina and undead friends are back with an all-new episode, "Unpleasantville," Thursday (click here for sneak peeks). Gossip Girl is off until March.
