The Vampire Diaries may be taking a week off this Thursday, but it's simply gearing up for another exciting episode on October 29.

The installment "Haunted" will celebrate Halloween in Mystic Falls, but producer Julie Plec told Entertainment Weekly a heavy focus of the hour will be Vicki's transformation into a vampire.

“Elena and Stefan’s whole goal is to make sure that nobody else knows what’s happened to her," Plec said.

As for the plot of the episode itself, Plec preview it as follows:

“The school does an awesome haunted house Halloween party, where the parking lot is decorated and the whole interior hallway of the school is this cool, creepy haunted house. And all the action of the episode culminates there when you’ve got people in vampire costumes running around.

You’ve got monsters and demons and, as everything with Vicki comes to a head, as she fights off her urges to feed, we’re in this haunted house and we’re at this Halloween party, and the s— hits the fan, as they say.”
