I'm with you Lynn. Shonda's really let me down. I'm almost dreading season six. Okay, maybe not dreading it, but I can't picture the show being as amazing without George.

Why are you mad at TR? Shonda is the one who gave up on George and she's the one who decided to kill him off.
TR leaving didn't mean she had to kill him, but she did that.
Can't you get how miserable he was? He got two seasons of nothing and a producer too busy to talk to him.
He was so unhappy he walked away from 14 million.
Shonda is the one who stopped loving George, so blame her not him.

Why haven't we heard anything about the actors who play George's mom and brothers being there? In my opinion it would not be at all plausible for there to be a funeral without his family there. It was weird enough that none of Derek's family was even invited to the wedding(even though it didn't end up being theirs) but it's way too unrealistic that his family wouldn't come to his funeral. On another note, can you imagine what George's death will do to Mrs. O'Malley??? after losing her husband barely a year ago...

Ok, I stand corrected. I think I'm past the point of being scared and hurt and upset about George possibly dying....and now that I see he's really dead I'm just pissed off! I'm even becoming mad at T.R. for not fighting harder for his character and his job. He's really let me down. Sorry but that's the way I feel now.
I think that Izzie would go to George's funeral even if it was going to kill her. And, I agree with Talia, I have seen some pretty sick people getting out and about on sheer determination. Plus, we don't know, maybe the funeral isn't right then, after Izzie nearly died. This might not be the premiere they are filming it could be a couple of episodes in...Two months from Friday we will get some answers!!!!

I just need to say something to the people saying that it doesn't seem real and its unrealistic. My cousin had stage IV metastatic Osteosarcoma that has spread to her lungs, she has tumors in atlest 4 different bones, but she can walk around(in pain) She has been many different places....a lot of people can't tell shes sick. but she is shes dying....its a matter of will power strength and mind over matter. we dont know maybe izzie wasn't supposed to go maybe theres a fight about it maybe they sneak her out guess we have to wait 2 more months to find out
The funeral of George O'Malley may be the saddest thing that I will have ever watched on tv (well fictionally anyhow). I am going to need bucket loads of tissues.

Izzie laughing? Wow that would be a huge slap in the face to us Gizzie fans. That'd be so awful. George dying isn't funny.

Ok, people who say its unrealistic, need to get over it. We don't know in what capacity she's there. They could have taken her in a wheel chair. Plus, her mets and everything are gone. And cancer can go into remission just like that. Doctors don't always even know why. So get a grip.

I am so glad we get a funeral scene. I remember how pissed off I was after Denny's death, when Shonda said she didn't want a funeral, because she just can't get it quite right. THis will be so sad! And remember how Izzie once said she laughs at funerals? It should be interesting to see whether they take that up. Maybe that's the "doctor who reacts unexpected" (wasn't that a spoiler?)... Can't wait!

I think that as sad as it is that George is gone - his death is going to bring out some GREAT acting in the first few episodes as they all deal in their own way.

Casey, I agree with you about this being the "most unrealistic cancer storyline in tv history ever". How could Izzie be well enough to attend George's funeral when she was dying herself just 4 days or so earlier.
I'm sorry but I'm a realist and I'm having a hard time with this storyline. I still say Shonda made a HUGE mistake. HUGE. And I'm afraid she will see it in the ratings this season.
